SOURCE: I have a 2003 Astro - interior issues
I had the same problem and found that my sliding side door "closed" switch, which is small and round and in the door frame, was not being pushed open all the way when the door was closed! As soon as I put a credit card in the spot where the switch hits the door all the locks and lights worked again. So I just taped a washer to the door where the pin switch hits it for now. The computer thinks the door is still open and will not alow them to lock and the lights won't operate right either.

We have the EXACT same problem. Can anybody help with this?

Most commonly if this is a bad receiver, when receiver start going bad they will work and not worked intermittently. The most you can do at this point is try to reprogram the system and see if it begins to work properly again otherwise it's gonna be time to replace the receiver. Part of the receiver is working, see the receiver receives your signal
but then it must perform an action and it's the action part of the
receiver that has the problem.
If the reprogramming must be done at the dealer with a factory scanner, unfortunately the other scanners available will not do this.
Keep in mind that the best place to possibly get a replacement key fob would be from the dealership. They will be able to sell you the fob and program it to your vehicle for you as well. Also if you need any extra keys you can get them there as well.
Hope this helps. Keep us updated.

thats probably because the car is dead now if you have a vehicle that you can jump it with then if you can get your hand in there and it will take alot of patients if you do it yourself but reach in right there on the back side of the grill you should be able to feel a wire if you pull it hard enough it will pop the hood and then you can pop it the rest of the way just like normal and then charge your car up and then your locks should work,
