1991 ford escort cruise control

I recived an escort and know nothing about it or the previous owner, certain things seem to be missing from different parts of the car, but from what i can gather this was done to make the car perform better and safer or or of lack of money to provide a permenent solution to the problem. Long story short, if the cruise control doesn't work how can i repair it... myself.

1991 ford escort, 1.9L automatic. Won't turn over. no power to starter.what am I missing?

It's not uncommon for the ignition switch to go bad in those Escorts. Check power into and out of the switch and replace if no power out.

Have a problem with intermittent cruise control on my 2007 Honda Civci Sedan. Took it to the dealer 2x, still have issues. "Main Cruise Control" lit on dash but cruise control intermittently will not...

cruise control operation is reliant on the following
road speed sensor ( speedo or VSS sensor )
engine rpms tacho/ ignition coil/module problem
clutch pedal sensor (VSS in automatic )
gear selection position sensor ( not properly adjusted causing flickering of the selector light)
brake pedal sensor
bad ground wire connections
r all need to work together or the CC will stop working
nothing to do with vents and all that you mentioned.
wire connections and harness connections for the transmission are suspect
CC will not operate under certain engine rpms and road speed

Ignition warning light

If you have had no known problems such as unexplained battery drain, or power window cross opening (close passenger window from passenger seat and have driver's window open, etc.), your computer may need to be reset. Disconnect your negative battery terminal, take a half hour break (minimum) and reconnect the terminal. (Immediately) Drive car for minimum of 10 miles, preferably on open road (I have done this 10 mile drive three times to get a bad transmission shift back into line, after having the 2/3 servo replaced). Once the computer has gone through all its paces, the warning light systems, cruise switches and power windows should all function as designed. My cruise control had previously had to be turned on with the "Coast" button. Now it works again--as designed.

Cruise control not working

Fuse is marked "ASC" 10A Speed Control (passenger compartment fuse box), most likely this will not be the problem, and if th fuse blew then there is a short and it won't work, the most common cause is the cruise control switch circuit.

Overfuelling when engine is cold, no power past 4000rpm.

First thing I would do is hook a scanner to the car to check the throttle position sensor and coolant temp sensor to make sure the car is getting up to temp. If it's not getting up to 195 degrees, none of your controls are going to work right. Also, make sure it's full of coolant because low coolant will make the car think it's in cold weather and make it run rich. Also, a thermostat will make a car have this kind of problem. Phil
