If gauge still shows empty and light is on then inside tank there is a arm thats prob just stuck remove lower rear seat and will see entry to tank gauge has about 3 to 4 screws open and check if arm is down or floating .

check for any circuit brakers near the fuse box, if theres any of them reset them by introducing a paperclip in the small hole and press, you will hear a click.

SOURCE: 1989 Saab 900 low level fuel light

You don;t say whether the fuel gauge is reading accurately, or whether it's always on empty. If the gauge is always showing empty, it's most likely a problem with the sending unit in the fuel tank. Check the resistance across the two terminals of the sending unit.

On a C900, the fuel sender level unit is separate from the fuel pump and located on the right side top of the tank, accessible by removing the trunk floor lift up panel (the pump is located on the left side top of the tank.
Possible problems are: electrical line off or broken, float not working (it's fairly delicate); or gauge not working.

Test the resistance of the sending unit with the lines disconnected, the resistance should be 2.6 to 3.8 ohms full tank, 63.3 to 67.5 ohms empty tank; and test for voltage across the top of the sender unit, if no voltage, that's likely the problem!

If the gauge is otherwise reading accurately (showing 'full' for a full tank, etc) then the problem is likely a gauge malfunction and can be simply replaced.

Good luck!

SOURCE: heater quit working 2001 Hyundai Elantra. Checked

If the heater is blowing cold air, it could be your thermostat. They cost $20-50 at an auto parts store. Also, after the car has been ran for awhile does it come up and stay at normal operating temperature? Is your coolant level normal? If the car is high in mileage and the cooling system has never beeen flushed, it may just need flushed.

P0466 2001 elantra. Won't allow proper fueling. Where to start

1st start by listening for vacuum leaks in hoses and your air intake manifold. 2nd run some Lucas Oil gas treament through your gas system to clean fuel injectors, revive seals, and etc. If that does not work, try replacing your fuel filter(The fuel filter is located under the rear seat in a compartment above the fuel tank. Also, a filter sock at the base of the fuel pump located in the fuel tank) as well as your fuel pump which is right there with your fuel filter. Hope this gets you at least started on the right path.

Did you put at least 3 gallons of gas in the car? Does the pump hum for one second when the key is turned to run?

Have you checked the air filter and filter box for a blockage ?
Low fuel pressure would also be a possible cause.

Have a 2005 hyundai elantra that will idle fine but when you push the gas pedal it miss's so bad it won't even move.

This sounds to be a typical fuel issue. First place to check would be your fuel pump and pressure regulator to see if they are functioning properly.

Here is a video explaining the procedure if you will be doing it yourself.

I have a 2001 hyundai elantra with a p0440 code.I replaced the PCV valve & hose,cleaned/tightened gas cap,tested manifold vacuum[is good],replaced rear charcoal cannister & pressure sensor...

Sounds like you have done a lot of the right work here. I popped that code on my 2001 Elantra within the first 50k miles. Turns out that in my case the gas cap was the culprit. Keep reading though, maybe this still applies. My cap was still very new, and it's not that I forgot to put it on or to tighten it. The mechanic at the Hyundai dealership said this happened all the time to this car, and that you simply have to get the cap tighter. It has that ratcheting release so as to not over-tighten it, but here's the trick: Tighten as normal, allow a few clicks for good measure. Then, press in firmly against the cap and you'll see that you can get another 1/8 or so turn out of the cap. I popped this code 3 times total, the first time the dealer just reset the light. The second time was when he told me about this, and the last time was accidental on my wife's part. :) You can reset the light by simply removing the battery terminal... 30 minutes seemed to work for me... and then reattach. Of course it goes without saying that this is with the car off. Good luck!

Just bought a used 2001 Hyundai Elantra and the second day I drove it the check engine light came on.

You can go to Autozone and they will scan it for free and tell you why its on. If you dont notice anything and it drives normally, then it's probally an Oxygen sensor. It won't hurt anything if you keep driving it will just use a tiny bit more gas than normal. I would have it scanned anyways. You can also open the gas cap and let the pressure off the tank if there is any pressure in it. Sometimes that causes the check engine light to come on. If you bought the car from a car lot and the check engine light wasn't on the disclosure, they should have to fix it or you can file a complaint against them with their field investigator at the DMV. A good scanner can tell how many times the check engine light came on and when the code was cleared. If it was cleared right before you bought the car it usualy means the car lot tried to get away with not fixing the problem. Good luck and I hope it's nothing too serious.

I have a liltle light in the panel of my car (Hyundai Elantra 2001) that says check engine and the scan problem is the famous ... P0440 EVAP System please help me i really want to eliminate the error !!!...

tightening your gas cap can sometimes fix this problem. Think if the light came on after buying gas.
If not it's usually the rubber seal around the gas cap. Just measure and replace with a similar rubber seal available at any hardware/auto parts store.

Gas problems with my 2001 Hyundai Elantra

remove the fuel tank and check that all the hoses connected to and from the tank are not clogged and in good condition...the reason why the fuel pump clicks is that it senses that there is fuel near the nozzle of the hose which means that the fuel you're putting isn't draining as fast as it should be
