I cant find the speed sensor on my 2000 ranger. i was told it was on the tranny, but nothing looks like the part i was sold.
This video shows the speed sensor and its location for a 2000 ford ranger xlt. It also describes the problems a bad sensor can give.
It is in the hole (held in place by a Y shaped clamp) where the speedo cable used to go on the side of the trans, has 2 wires coming out of it, it is round with a round connector. Is this for an ABS problem? if so the sensor is on the top of the differential housing.
