Where is the Fuel Filter located on 1988 Dodge Ram 50

hook fuel gauge check fuel pressure usually 15 psi for tbi 30 psi for fuel injected and check volume

I have a 1989 Dodge Ram 50 and the fuel filter is located on frame under rear by gas tack next to fill spout .Tight spot hard to get to .Also another filter on top of fuel tank.Dont know why two filters so close together.I only changed one but plan on changing other soon.

In-line Fuel Filter
The in-line fuel filter is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment.

If its the same as my 1989 dodge ram 50 it sits on the engine block by the carburator

Tap on side of carb. float could be stuck.

follow the fuel line up from the gas tank and you will find a round canister this is the filter also it is usually located on the driver side under that area

That truck has two fuel filters.
The first filter in the system, mounted in the gas tank, is attached to the tank drain plug. This filter is of a screen type construction and prevents most larger contaminants from entering the fuel supply line.The second, or primary filter in the system, is located in the engine compartment. The Fuel Filter is located: Under hood, center, lower engine area, between fuel pump and carburetor, mounted in fuel line .

Sounds like it's fuel starved. It will be TBI, there's another fuel filter bolted to the chassis, about mid way, drivers side (looks like a small metal can, with to hose fittings). Any fuel leaks anywhere, rusted out fuel or fuel return lines? Air starved? Replace your air filter. A bad coil will cause this too.
