Did you have a manual with you to find the torque specs on the job you were preforming? If not your gasket job will be too tight in some areas or too loose in others!

SOURCE: location of cam position senor

Not a bad job to replace the cam position sensor, it took about two hours cost about $150.00 with oem parts. First remove air filter box, remove plastic spark plug cover. Jack up engine about an inch remove engine mount. Now you can access sensor through a convenient cover that mounts around engine mount bracket extending from engine block.( one ten millimeter bolt) Remove accessory drive belt for a little extra room and replace with new one while you are in there. Just between the two cam gears you will see a torx screw that aligns the switch when in installed. DO NOT REMOVE THIS Just above the torx screw is a reverse torx screw (6 millimeter) Put a shop rag in the access hole to catch the screw just in case you drop it ,( so it does not fall into timing belt cover) Put something "sticky" in the 6 millimeter socket such as gasket sealer to keep from losing screw. remove. Pull switch up from inside spark plug cover and install new one through the same. reinstall 6 millimeter bolt. Switch is self aligning. Reinstall belt, engine mount, air box. Doing this myself probably saved me about $150.00 to $200.00 dollars

SOURCE: Where are the oxygen sensors located on the 1998

the O2 sensor is located just before your catalytic converter. The MAF sensor is located on your air intake pipe just after the filter

SOURCE: 1998 suzuki esteem 1.6 will not start HELP!

Having good fuel pressure is a plus (yours seems a bit high but I don't have specs) What you need to find out is if the injectors are opening and putting the fuel into the engine so it can work. Are the plugs wet with fuel or dry? Does it fire up if you spray carb cleaner into the throttle body while cranking?

Testimonial: "thanks for quick reply..will pull plugs and inspect..wow what a great site!"

SOURCE: I have just replaced the crankshaft bearings on my Suzuki Jimny M13A and found out that when I start the engine it will not stay idle. I disconnected the sensor in front of the camshaft and it stays i

dude your electronic ignition system has gone bust... you will have to replace the engine mapping chip, but good luck finding it... I tried to no avail.

Tell me if you get it though.. Goodluck :)

What would cause my 2002 suzuki esteem to just die

Jamie, Is or was engine light on, are there any codes, was there any recent work done? The more info. the easier to help diagnose.
Removing the oil fill cap and have a helper crank the engine, while you look for cam movement,if you have cam movement that's good.
Next squirt some starter fluid in throttle body and try starting, try a couple times. If starts and revs fine while running on starter fluid, problem is a faulty fuel pump filter, fuse, relay or pump.
If it spits sputters or backfire while trying to start, timing belt has slipped probably and needs replaced.

Crank sensor or computer

which engine.? 1.6L or 1.8L
radial differences, 1.8L is DOHC newer engine. became 2.0L later,
try some comma's please.

ILL take a wild guess, you have the G16b ENGINE.
And is OBD2 car, USA, and as such has the new CKP crank sensor
and you bought a non suzuk gasket set, that came with a non suzuki
pan gasket, i guess you didnt notice the car HAS NO PAN gasket
and if you add one, it makes the CPK sensor too FAR from the tone wheel on the cranks, seen 100s like this fail all for using a gasket
if you look close, the CKP is too far from the tone wheel.
and will fail. next time ask how to fix a G16b first.

1.8 liter has a structural aluminum oil pan, totally differ.

the pan must be put on with RTV, just as the FSM shows.

How many quarts of oil do I Put in my 1.6 L engine 1998 Suzuki Esteem?

Put in three, run the car and then check the dipstick. Three is plenty to ensure oil pressure then you can use the dipstick mark to get it just right. but it is probably four.

Need to know PSI level for A/C refill in 1998 suzuki esteem

This job requires special tools and special training. If you lack either, you risk SERIOUS personal injury. Injury comes VERY EASILY!

You need to address oil levels, proper and legal refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, and recharge.

You were planning to also replace the receiver/dryer, correct? It also needs the oil in it measured and incorporated into the amount of oil (in %) that would need to be added. FAILURE to address these and other issues will guarantee premature system failure and likely compressor damage.

Take this job to a qualified shop.

Sorry
