The 'Check Engine' light stays on after the engine has started, but
everything is running smoothly. The truck seemed to be a tad lazier on cold
starts, but I didn't take notice until today, when the Check Engine light
stayed on. I suspect a spark plug (even though I cannot say by listening to
the engine, it's a V6)
Any ideas please ?
I have the same problem... I changed the battery on my 1999 GMC Jimmy and the service engine light came on and stayed on. Does anyone know how to reset the light? I have already tried disconnecting the battery cables for 10 minutes and then re connecting them. No change.

where did you get the pump replaced?a dealer or local garage There are 2 pumps for the jimmy one for a plastis tank which is an 18 gal and one for a metal tank which is a 19 gal.if the jimmy has a metal tank get the 19 gal pump . i ran into the same problem with my 98 jimmy
