I bought a 1998 crystler sebring lxi and while driving home it was running fine and then all of a sudden it started bogging down like it wanted to die. I let off the gas and waited a couple of seconds and touched the gas and it ran fine for a couple of miles and I had to do the same thing over and over for several miles but when I stopped it acted like it had no power to go but once it got to going it ran fine for a couple of more miles and it bogged down again every couple of miles going home.. what could be causing it?

SOURCE: 1998 Chy. Sebring will just

Hi! I strongly suggest that you have a PCM (powertrain control module) reset. The PCM has connectivity on all electrical current that runs inside the car including the engine, transmission, accessories, etc. It's like a car's brain that when it's faulty everything else fails. If the PCM can't be resetted specially when it's heavily damaged. I suggest that you have it replaced to get rid of all the troubles. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

SOURCE: while driving, engine bogs down

Do you have a check engine light on??? If so have it scanned FREE at AutoZone and they will give you a paper print out as to what the codes mean, and what part you need,,,Sounds like a o2 sensor,or some other sensor.

SOURCE: have a 1998 chrysler sebring

1) Check the fuel cap to be tight. Replacing it every few years is a good idea anyway. 2) Probably got bad gas with water in it. Get some gas dryer from auto parts store to remove water in fuel. 3) replace fuel filter if you did indeed get some water in the fuel.

Ecm ecu computer is out on 99' chrysler sebring lxi

I have the same problem with my 99 sebring lxi, I'm getting a new ecu for the transmission and the engine, hopefully that fixes it. Did the car randomly die and wouldn't start again or when driving keep the transmission in one gear and wouldn't change?

I have a 1998 Chrysler Sebring Coupe Lxi and have

first as a rule of thumb, check your fuses
then check for spark at the spark plugs
then check for fuel at the fuel rail
you should eliminate some of the system at this time
