SOURCE: 1998 honda accord obd code P0171 and P0170.

Hi,welcome to fix ya.
p0171 is for a lean fuel condition .A variety of things can cause this code the most common one is a bad o2 sensor but a plugged injector, fuel filter or dirty egr system can cause this as well.

not hard at all, many people have had O2 sensor problems if they have installed an aftermarket Cat ( Not Honda ) get new bolts and you should be done in under an hour.

With regard to the Transmission, some Honda's have strict procedures to follow with their trany's.
I hope you never had it flushed by a Quick lube or something like that. Also the type of fluid is very special in some of them too so mixing them with regular ATF will cause problems. I worked for a Forein Car Specialist and know how important it is to use only the Honda recommended fluids in them. If the light went out you can reset the code and see if it returns, if it does you may want a reputable shop to professionaly flush your tranny and replace the oil with Honda recommended oil.
With regards to your Catalytic converter, unless you can hear it comming apart inside (bang on it and listen if it rattles) or if the car is running extremly rich (gas will ruin the cat) you may have a blocked or ruined muffler farther down the system which is slowing the flow through the cat.
I hope this helps.

Hi how u doing, my car honda odyssey 1999 has check engine light on code number p0132 i replaced the o2 sensors 3 times already what do u think i need to do

Hello Hazem Hammad,

Check out the exhaust system...

You might have a catalytic converter or muffler
blocking the OUT-FLOW.

Unless you are into DIRTY jobs... and LIQUID WRENCH...
Consider your local friendly muffler shop...

JUST MAKE SURE you know your
PRICES BEFORE going in...

A wee bit of dirt can save A BUNCH of money
(if you don't drop the car on yourself).

Choose wisely... be safe!!

I have a engine light Code P 0420, please tell me how to fix this & what is this. Its 2000 Honda Civic Ex $ door Sedan

Your Honda is probably very high on mileage. The P0420 code indicates that the catalyst system is operating below the efficiency threshold. In English, your sensors are telling your ECU that the catalyst in the catalytic converter is worn out. A new catalytic converter is going to be big $$$.

It is not going to disable your car, but if you live in a state requiring emission testing to pass inspection, your car will probably not pass the next inspection.

You can get a code reader (the Actron CP9575 or CP9175; both work well for less than $150.00 USD) from most auto parts stores or Sears and try clearing the code. In all liklihood, clearing the code this way will not fix the problem and the CEL will illuminate again.
