91 Dodge Spirit stuck in low gear, won't shift out.

Sounds like you need a new shift cable. Remove the shift cable from the linkage on the transmission. If the transmission linkage moves freely back into the park position and the shift lever inside the car still will not move back into park than the cable is bad. If the transmission shift linkage will not move back into park with the cable removed than the transmission will need to be pulled apart to service the shift rod.

I have a 1998 z24 cavaler, while i was driving i put the car into 2nd to downshift because i was turning, as i put it into 3rd the shifter felt like it was broke and it does not want to go into 1st 2nd...

Hi...your problem is usually caused by the ****** shift linkage being stuck in two gears at the same time which can sometimes happen from shifting out of sequence. In order to fix this you need to get under the vehicle and manually shift one of the trannys linkage levers into a different position to free it so you will be able to shift normally once again. NOTE: Be extremely careful when working under the vehicle and take every precaution to ensure your safety first and foremost!

My problem is that the manual transmission is stuck in 4th gear. I was backing up when I went to put it into 1st the shifter was stuck. The clutch works to disengage the gears but the shifter won't...

That cylinder is known as the clutch slave cylinder. It should push against the clutch fork every time the clutch pedal is depressed to allow gear changes. If it doesn't, suspect a faulty slave cylinder, or clutch master cylinder.

Was shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear when shift lever got loose, chould not shift into any gear, seems like it is stuck in 1st now.Feels like I still have clutch, could it be something in the linkage

Sounds like you broke your linkage. It's not as bad as it sounds. It's a cable, or a small plastic part. It will be expensive to have a shop do it. Try to get help from a friend.

When i shift it feels loose like its not grabbing

its the gear linkage falling apart, or just about to fall off, get under the car and have a look at the gear box linkage keep the brakes hard on and get some body to go through the gears for you, if its just hanging off find a way to put it back on again there normaly held on by a spring clips if its poped off thats the problem

Stuck on 3rd gear

Your vehicle needs servicing. Clutch plates might have worn out. Go to the nearest service station to enjoy the joy ride again.
