I lost power to my radio, power door locks and interior light... all at the same time. What happened?

Radio fuse in the fuse box is ok. Is it a relay issue? Where are the relays located in an 85 corvette?

You have 12 volts across all the fuses for the listed items, you checked this?

This car does not have a door lock relay. The gray and tan wires go straight from the switch to the door lock motors.

SOURCE: Security Light always on, door lock fuse keeps blowing

This is most likely a problem with your Passlock anti-theft system which is known issue with these cars. Passlock is a "passive" anti-theft system, which means that it will disable your ability to start the car if it thinks there is a problem. The three components that can cause this are: 1) Ignition Switch, 2) Ignition Cylinder, 3) Body Control Module (computer). The dealer is the only one who can solve this problem (unless you can bypass it, but it is not that easy). Estimated repair from most dealers is $800 and up.

SOURCE: Radio, Key auto door lock/opener, interior lights not working.

Most likely is a fuse. There is a fuse box at the end of the right side of the dash. Open front passenger door and there is a cover that says fuses on the end of dash. There is also a fuse box located under the hood at the right front of engine compartment. It should have a cover with a round knob in the middle of it .Unscrew the knob to remove cover.

SOURCE: trying to locate fuel pump relay for 1991 corvette- coupe

The fuel pump relay in the 1991 corvette is located under the IP on the pass side.
Open pass door, unscrew two screws under the glovebox (you will be upside down in the car), take off the fuse panel, unscrew third screw to plastic plate underneath glovebox, pull away carpet (velcro), pull down plastic plate (watch out for the wiring to the lamp), then under the glovebox you will find a number of fuses and relays if you dive in under there DEEP, prob 4 or 5 in a row, not really sure wich one, but one in the middle is the fuel relay, and they are the same (interchangable).
Take a look at --the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp--
It´s those relays we are talking about.

Radio, clock, interior light and central locking not working

This is as a result of a short occurring most likely in the radio harness.

It happened me while working on a customers car. In my case checked all fuses and they all appeared fine, both those under the hood/bonnet and those underneath the steering wheel.

After studying the workshop electrical schemmatics for the car it appears that the clock, interior lights, central locking receiver and radio permanent live/battery are all on the one line.

In effect damage had occurred after the internal fuse panel, therefore all fuses were ok and supplying power across them, but at some point after there was a break in the wire.

However you DO NOT need to remove dash and or replace harnesses to rectify.

Look at the fuse panel underneath the steering wheel. Slot 18 (bottom RHS) and you will see in raised plastic 'BACK UP'. Inserting a 10A fuse here will restore the interior lights, radio, clock and your central locking.

There is a small plastic piece in the way which prevents a fuse going in. Simply use a thin pair of pliers, scissors or a screwdriver (or similar tool) to break this and all pieces of it away until you are able to insert the 10A mini blade fuse.

Problem Sorted!

(I believe the fact this back up exists is because the designers of electrical system at mitsibushi realised it had shortcomings or this would be a potential problem - and included the back up for such an occurence)

Radio Does not work.Door locks only work when ignition is on

i had a similar problem on my ford probe. i found that the fixed live to the radio had split. it left me with only switched power from the ignition. over time it shorted out and i lost radio, central locking and dash lights. i replaced the fuse in the back of radio and had to have the wiring checked! oddly when it was checked over no other faults were found apart from the split live.i replaced the live feed, reconnected the battery and everything was fine. Dont know if this helps but u never know. Good Luck
