SOURCE: Mazda RX-8 Looking of airbag mogul

call up mazda. you should be able to get it replaced for free under safety recalls. unless youre missing one completely. then youll need them to get you one and install it. cause if you accidentally set off the airbag youre out of a car. if they set one off, they fix it or replace your car for free. up to you. second option sounds better in my opinion.

SOURCE: Mazda 2005 RX-8 wont start... ran yesterday, lights on & sounds

I have a 2004 that had the same problem. It sounds like the engine might be flooded. The best thing to do is to remove the fuse to the fuel pump. It will be listed under the fuse cover under the hood. Mine was a 20 amp but check to be sure. With the fuse removed, crank the engine for a minute to remove any fuel flooding the engine. Replace the fuse and crank the engine in 10 second intervals without touching the gas or you will reflood the engine. This process can sometimes take awhile and will drain your battery, so have it connected to an additional power source ( i.e. another car battery or jump box). When the car finally cranks over there will be a huge cloud of smoke so don't be alarmed when it happens. Lastly some words to the wise. This process CAN ruin your starter, but is essentially the same process that the dealership will you except that they will remove the spark plugs to drain the fuel and then charge you for new ones. If this process doesn't work then you probably need new spark plugs which is going to cost quite a bit. I was quoted upwards of $525 to fix this problem until I talked to a Mazda mechanic and found out how to do this myself. Just make sure that the engine is up to running temperature before turning the car off and you shouldn't encounter this problem again. I hope this helps you, and remember that if all else fails the dealer can fix it. It won't be cheap, but they will get it done.

I almost forgot, you HAVE to get the oil changed as soon as possible because there is probably gas in the oil now.

SOURCE: RX-8 EVAP P0455

This code is very vague as many things can cause this code. The most likely culprits would be: a loose or improperly affixed gas cap; a non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand); other leak or damaged piece in EVAP system

Some possible fixes would be; remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back; replace the gas cap, and/or; inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses (you may hear a vacuum noise or smell fuel), repair if necessary

2007 Mazda CX-7 2.3 disi turbo. Crank no start tachometer does not move when I try to turn the car over.. No RPMs. Help please

2.3 L MZR L3-VDT DISI turbo I4
contradicted at cranks no start and RPM zero.
the starter spins the engine 300 RPM cranking but most dash tacho's are dead below 500. sure.
Cranks ,then starts and then runs and for more than 10 seconds.
that is a serial process on engines. it may start and stall at 10 seconds.

no crank has 6 to 8 causes
cranks fast but will not start has up 50 causes.
we can not hear your starter spin here, nor see crank spin fast.
we are blind and deaf (<< ask us is not easy/)
lets go with cranks fast and will not start.( i chose it)
well , key on and the IMMO lamp must nut be Unhappy per the lost users guide,in the glove box.
the easy answer is this, using only physics, tests. using TOOLS

1: engine is dead. and compression or leakdown tests fail, compression below 150psion one or more cylinders.(4)
2: next is spark is 1 or more cylinder.s(all 4) a test,
3: bad fueling , non, or bad fueling, and pump sounds mean little none. pump pressure matters, another tool;. PSI

watch,do and then ask better questions.
cranks means only that the starter works and spins the engines crank shaft fast (keep the battery charged at all times on any dead car)
the fuel dribble test only matters if DRY..a pressure gauge test is the only tool to use. for spec pressure.(ask)

Exhaust glows red hot

Mazda rx 8 creates a lot of heat, to fix this you must change out the coolant every 20k miles, with the mazda brand coolant i think its called mazda f22 coolant, the engine stays hot due to the high RPM engine, you may want to check: ignition coils, cat, coolant, and do a compression test.

1986 mazda rx7 wont start

Need to make sure it is turning fast enough, and cranking voltage does not go below 10V. if it does there are issues with battery/cables/wiring/starter. If it cranks fast with no start, check plugs and wires, recommend NGK only. No they are not cheap but they are the best value for the normal driver.
IF they are good and fuel delivery is good, a compression test would be recommended. FSM can be found at foxed.ca

Engine rolls over does not start

I had this problem. Twice! It sounded like it wanted to turn over but couldn't. Your engine may be flooded. I had to have mine towed to the mazda dealer (if under 100,000 miles it is under warrenty) so they could fix it. The second time they had to replace my engine because of a bad compression ring.

You cranked the car and moved around driveway to allow another car to get out. Shut it off. Now it sounds like the engine is turning over, but no fire, just spinning..

Do you have a Wankel engine in you car?
Then you have a flooded engine.
Pull the fuel pump fuse or relay and crank the engine over......until it starts then stops.
Now put relay or fuse back and start.
You cannot start and stop a Wankel in a Mazda RX when it is in it's cold mode and restart it easily.
Always run them for at least 10 min before shutting it off.
The other way to start after flooding.....is wait a day.
