I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe with the ABS & Brake light on.The Electro-Hydraulic Control Unit runs continuosly. Do you have any suggestions?
I hope you have the problem fixed by now, but, it is the ABS control under the truck. You need to go under the hood and open the fuse box and disconnect the 60 amp fuse for the ABS, this will turn it off before it burns up. This however will also cause the traction assist off light to stay lit all the time. To the fix the problem you can pay tons of money ($700 or so) to have the dealership install a ABS control and the problem will happen again over time. Or, remove it yourself, go on ebay and ship it off to a guy who repairs them for about $150 and you will never have the problem again. Also, if you wrap your cable ends with plastic and protect them good, you can still drive you truck while the part is being worked on. It takes about a week.
I have a 2004 s10 4X4 and my abs ligth comes on after a while. The brakes work fine and I found no difference. Can you tell me if a sensor is bad or what may be the problem? Thank you
Have you checked to see if the control relay is stuck closed?
On 2001 Chevy Tahoe the ABS lite comes on after I start moving. Sometime the brake lite will come on as well

My ABS light is on and the module is running. I went under the truck and dis connected the module wires. Now the traction control light stays on, as well as the ABS light. The part is very expensive, so I've been driving without ABS brakes and traction control. Is there a more cost effective fix.

same problem, after this winter in new england the abs brakes were utilized a few times. i dont know much about cars, now the abs light and brake light come on soemtimes.
Just unplug the fuse, you'll maintain traction control and save your battery. If you replace the fuse, the Electro-Hydro-Cont-Unit will run and you will have ABS.
Just remove the fuse. You can put it in when you go for a grive. Or get it fixxed.
