Sounds like a starter motor problem. Possibly a sticky solenoid. Try rocking the car or giving the starter and solenoid a hard bang with a hammer.

SOURCE: hi please help i have a peugeot 406 hdi i have had

Try this but the fault I have is intermittent so may take a bit to work out - switch off everything in the car so there is no noise. Turn on ingnition (do not start) and listen for the sound of of the fuel pump below the rear seat - behind the drivers seat. The pump should run for about 5 - 10 sec then shut off, it may work but if you cannot hear it it may be an ECU issue. If it does run start the car and drive it until it stops again, switch the ignition on/off and listen for the pump running. if you can confirm that the pump is running intermittently you have the same ECU problem I have. The official solution is to replace the ECU - ££££££. The low cost alternate is to run a wire from the ingnition controlled feed at rear of the radio and connect to the pump feed at the fuel tank, ensure a correct rated fuse is installed somewhere along the wire. There is a least one issue with this - if the ignition is on the pump is running, so not a good idea to sit with the key turned to listen to the radio.

SOURCE: peugeot 307 sw ignition switch fuse keeps

there are three likely problems.... check the battery of the vehicle if the battery is still ok, or the alternator is not supplying the right power and finally the fuse box has some burnt part in it internally...

I changed fuel filter and fuel pump .car still wont start intill the pump Stops pumping fuel.im not sure what to do at this point im basically a parts changer that's it.i feel like the pvc valve may be...

I read this the other day and it made no sense to me.
The PCV would have nothing to do with the engine starting, only how it runs.
You would need to check fuel pressure at the injector rail with a gauge to see if the pump is working.
The pump should run for 3 seconds with the key on then stop until the engine starts. It gets power from the pump relay then once the oil pressure switch shows oil pressure. If the engine does not start the pump should not have power.

MY PEUGEOT 307 WON'T START, WE TRIED JUMP LEADS, BUT DIDNT WORK. ITS A 2004 MODEL. 1.4 PETROL

hi if the engine wont even turn over then the chances are the starter motor needs replacing, if the engine is turning over and it just wont start then you need to look at things like the fuel pump or fuel pump relay

I have a bmw 316i i have 30 to 40 miles worth of petrol inside the petrol tank and the car rev metre goes up and down and cars engine shuts down completely and it wont start untill it has quarter of a tank...

That sounds like the petrol pickup pipe in the tank has an air leak and when the fuel is dropping down below the leak it is sucking in more air than petrol.
The most likely cause of that is either the gauge sender untit or the fuel pump itself leaking (if the fuel pump on that car is inside the tank).

Tempreture gauge drops to cold and car stops

Sounds like faulty engine temp sensor. When it drops to cold, the engine control unit picks this up and alters the fuel mixture accordingly. The ECU will be making it a very rich fuel mixture for cold starting, hence very poor running when engine is hot.
