The fop works on the key that wont start the truck
My brother had this problem with a different car a few years ago. He contacted the manufacturers and they told him that there are two keys and only one will start the car, something about only one key having a microchip iside? i dunno, maybe its the same with yours.
For the key that is not working you need to program it to the vehicle. This can be different depending on what year your Ford Edge is. Find the Transponder Key Programming Instructions here.
Replace battery in both key fobs, within 1 minute of each other, open fob with back side up, look at battery model number, close fob. go get 2 batteries and change them out (plus side up). try both fobs again with vehicle. If either one does not work, you have to re-register them with the vehicle. you must be inside the car with both fobs and there are within 3 feet of each other. Pull out the owners manual, find the section on ignition keys, go through the process of ignition key cycling. It simple to do.
