EMC1 fuse keeps blowing immediately in 02 chevy express 3500LS 5.7L engine

Was driving and when applied brake check gauges light came on and vehicle stopped. EMC1 fuse was blown. put new fuse in and placed vehicle in on position and it immediately blew again. There is a short to ground somewhere but unsure where. The computer is not waking up due to fuse blowing before it can. How do I get GM wiring schematics for this vehicle?

That fuse powers the pink wire that runs to the coil, injectors, and pcm.
If the short isn't obvious, I disconnect everything I can from the wire and then put in a fresh fuse. I turn the key on and check the fuse. If it blows, I know it's something I haven't disconnected or the wire itself. If it doesn't blow, I start reconnecting things one at a time untl the fuse blows again.

SOURCE: fuse for brake lights blows

There is a short in the brake light wiring, that I guess you know, these types of problems have no common fix, each is different, did you add any wiring like for a trailer?

SOURCE: 1998 chevy lumina pcm ign fuse keeps blowing

Update: I took the car to a mechanic that specializes in auto electrics and he found that the wire that goes to the back oxygen sensor had chaffed through over the transmission and was shorting out and blowing the fuse. He repaired it and the car runs beautifully.

SOURCE: Cooling Fan Fuse

Sounds like a short in the wiring, or a bad fan motor drawing too much current. Check the wiring for shorts, if none are found, replace the fan motor.

SOURCE: speedometer gauge/climate control lights dont work

Look for a dimmer wire,, sounds like your radio dont have the option for the car dimmer switch,,

the power for these lights run through the dimmer wire for the radio. ether its not hooked up or the radio dont have the option for it.

there is a way to bypass the radio dimmer option,, BUT you have to know what your doing or you could fry something.

look for Car Radio Illumination/dimmer Wire: should be Green.

Fuses keep burning out; rear lights don't come on when brakes are applied. Is there a connection between these two problems?

There is a problem with your question
from what you say the brake lights do not come on when the brakes are applied --that would most likely be a faulty brake light switch
The fuse blows when the hand brake is applied indicates a short after the hand brake switch before the brake indicator in the dash that lets you know the hand brake is applied
you say that the rear light come on when the light switch is turned on--does the fuse blow then , when the brakes are applied or only when the hand brake is applied
a clearer question with a lot of detail ( make , model year , engine size etc)will get a closer answer

CRUISE CONTROL WON'T WORK ON 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER

check cruise control fuse and check the brake lights see if brake light working because the brake light switch will deactivate cruise control when brakes is applied.if brake lights dont work either fuse blowed or switch bad.if all is good have vechicle code scan because cruise control control by PCM and vechicle speed sensor and thottle actuator control motor.

Brake light fuse keeps blowing in my 1997 Suburban only when towing trailers.

If the fuse blows on different trailers then it's all down to the vehicle. You either have incorrect wiring on the vehicle, a short OR the fuse is not of a high enough value to cope with the additional brake lights? You could try removing all the trailer bulbs EXCEPT the brake lights - e.g. if it's trying to power up the indicators too? That would stop the fuse blowing...... OR remove the brake bulbs from the vehicle & see if it operates the trailer without blowing...... Check the total wattage of ALL the brake lamps & see if the fuse is actually of a high enough rating? Be aware though that increasing the value of the fuse could cause damage elsewhere! As a rough guide a 25 watt bulb will pull around 2 amps at 12 volts - so 4 bulbs may pull up to 8 amps & clearly blow a 5 amp fuse! If in doubt take it to an auto electrician...... The wiring needs to be correctly protected!

Reverse and interior lights out, chevy express van

Fuse block under the hood. Driver's side, under the brake master cylinder. Number 18. TCB#2. Replace the fuse.

There is an under-engineered ground in the reverse circuit. If you back up with the dome lights on, it could blow that fuse. There should be some extra fuses under the cover of the fuse block.

1992 chevy s10 no brake lights or turn signals

Check the front and rear (although probably the rear) turn signal bulb socket for corrosion and/or water intrusion. If you find corrosion attempt to clean (but you will probably have to replace the socket and bulb). For water intrusion you will probably have to replace the break lamp assembly.
