I'm not sure if this would correct the problem but try taking out the fuse for the sunroof. Keep it out for about 5 minutes then plug it back in. That might reset the controls. You could also try disconnecting the battery and leaving it disconnected for 5 minutes. (This ensures that the computer chip will also reset everything to default.)
If you're not sure where the fuse is, look in the owner's manual. The fuses are usually located by the floor of the front passenger. The owner's manual will tell you which fuse is for the sunroof, sometimes it will have other electrical components going through the same fuse but that shouldn't matter.

Have a 2008 jeep grand cherokee laredo put key in ignition and dash board says damaged key and another service security key jeep wont start

This sounds like a bad chip in the key, try a spare key, if it starts with spare key then key is bad, if it doesnt start then you will need reprograming

MY 2005 JEEP CHEROKEE LAREDO JUST STOPED DRIVING

If engine sounds okay, (when you accelerate, it revs up, etc.) then could be a transmission problem. (assume this is an automatic?)

Check fluid level first, if okay, next suggestion would be to change fluid & filter.

When you select a gear, do you get anything, any slight jolt to the vehicle?

If nothing at all, also might check the transmission lever linkage.

Is this 4WD or 2WD? If 4WD, also need to check transfer case setting, make sure it is properly set.

My sunroof is stuck open on my 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo? Would it be a fuse? If so, how do you change it?

Definitely, you'll have to take a look to see if any obstruction is visible. To check the fuses first you'll need to find them. The fuse block cover should illustrate what each fuse is for. You can visibly check the fuses, with a flashlight. Just take a look at the sunroof fuse and check that its not burned. That the metal inside goes from one side to the other and its not burned or broken. You can use a test light or a multimeter, a test-light will do. I usually check them visibly, its obvious when you have a blown fuse just by looking at it. Its better just to pull out the suspected fuse to check it.

My sunroof is stuck open on my 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo? Would it be a fuse? If so, how do you change it?

Check the fuses under the dash on the drivers side, next to the steering column. There should be a fuse puller on the fuse box door. Also a chart of which fuses at what so you can go to the proper fuse. Good luck, Please let me know if this is the solution to your problem.

Interior lights on climate clontrol knobs don't work

After showing the dealership this site and the problems that others have had. I insisted that they take a look at it and solve the problem. FINALLY, they admitted that there are lights and that basically it is a pain to fix because they need to order a new module. After one day in the shop, I now have lights for the climate controls in my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Do not let them tell you that it only is an option with the Limited. It is just flat out FALSE. I was so frustrated with my dealership because this is shady if you ask me, but they did fix it free of charge. Do your research, call JEEP themselves, and provide the dealership with facts and they should fix it. It's ridiculous how much work I had to do to get them to admit that the Laredo also had the option, but it failed. Don't back down!!!!!!!
