My car is (1993)Fiat Tempra 1.6S (not specified in your modle and manufacturing date lists). The problem is the engine over heating without moving the car.The thermostate was checked and found working proparly, the cooling pump is running adequatly, the hot water is running all over the cooling circuit but newly noticed that water compensation tank is becoming pressurized which did'nt normally happend befor and steam comes out when tank cover tightening is released a littel !!,as well as no leakage in the circuit. Would you please explain me the causes and send me the cooling fan wiring diagram with any other related connction to solve the fan problem which is not running when temp. increased over 90c??
Sounds like the temp switch for the fan or the fan motor itself. To check run jumper wires from your batter directly to fan.. If it turns on, then you have a bad switch. If not , your fan motor is bad. I do not have a diagram for your car but finding wires from your fan assemble should be easy. Trace starting from fan. There should be a harness soon after the fan for you to connect jumper wires to to check fan. And by the way it does not matter witch way you hook the jumper wires up. It will only change the direction the fan motor turns. Just make sure you disconnect the harness so that you do not create a back flow of current. The reason for your coolant overflow to be getting excessive pressure is the heat in the system is causing boil over(the car is too hot).
