2000 GMC Sierra w/4.3 misfire on #2,4 cylinders

I had to replace the fuel pump 3 months ago, about a month later the service light came on. I knew I was overdue for a tune up so I replaced plugs cap and rotor. the truck ran fine for about a week then it developed a misfire. I brought it to a local shop that I have went to for years, they read the codes and found a misfire and told I should replace the wires they did and this didn't fix the problem so they said I need new fuel injectors at a cost of $1300 on top of the $326 already racked up. If it helps cold engine runs fine, only misfires when warm and I don't know if the fuel pump is for pre 1996 models that use a lower fuel pressure, HELP ME PLEASE! I need my truck oh the milage is 71,000

If it were low fuel pressure misfire , it wouldn't be cylinder specific misfire #2 , 4 it would be P0300 random misfire . I would think fuel injector's too . When hot they could be breaking down electrically , more resistance . If they tested electrically with a lab scope they would know for sure . Misfire from sticking fuel injector no fuel misfire

SOURCE: engine won't idle,

ok code 32 is the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) this does not mean that the EGR valve is bad right off, check it and see if it is stuck in the open position, remove the vacuum line see if it moves, it should not. It is supposed to open at highway speed to recirculate exhaust gases and burn them, if the valve is stuck open the engine will not idle because it upsets the air mixture too much, if you remove the valve and see its open, then replace it.

Cylinder 3 misfiring on a 97 gmc jimmy 4wd. Did a tune up about 2 months ago (ignition, wires, coil, spark plugs), replaced fuel pump last week, used fuel injector cleaner, still no luck...any ideas?

go back and check all the plugs, wires and the total tune up. check your firing order, and timing. put a timing lite on the plug wires and if the plug is bad it will show with the light. lol.

P0302 #2 cyclider misfire

Sounds like the pintle in the #2injector is not properly seated allowing fuel to drip into that cylinder when the engine is off .

I have a 1994 gmc 1500 truck with a 5.7 v8.one fuel injector is pumping fuel and the other injector is not!!!!i swapped the injectors and its not the injector.

Go to the parts store and get a noid light for your truck, plug it into the injector electrical and turn the engine over to see if there is electrical pulse, also check the fuel pressure, the pump needs 9-13 psi with the engine running. you know if there is no pulse your going to need to check the wireing first. let me know

Throwing P0301 and P0302 fault codes as of yesterday. Check engine light has been on and threw code of P1450 about 3-4 months ago. Figured it was an evap issue and no big deal thats why I never remedied...

those are misfire codes. Cylinder #1 & #2 in the firing order. Check for bad plugs first. Swap one of the misfires with a non misfire cylinder and see if that cylinder misfires. Or just change the 2 plugs. Put high temp anti seize on the threads if you ever want to remove them later.

Then change the 2 COPs (Coil on Plug).

Finally, check for plugged or bad injectors. CHevron Techron injector cleaner is the best. Add to 1/4 tank of gas for better cleaning.

Report results.

Please rate too. Thanks.

My engine will turn over and catch but wont hold. this has happened 3 times in 2 months, not all the time. acts like it's running out of gas, but there is plenty in it. fuel pump was replaced 2 years ago....

check for power supply at the fuel pump and also interuption in the 12 volt power supply to your ignition coil ...please rate help, thanks...

Intermittened problems are the hardest to diagnose you know, you almost have to be preapred when it happens having all the necessary diagnostic equipment on hand at all times...

2000 s10 Blazer dies very 3-6 weeks for no reason

i would check your ignition system. you would need a meter for this but look for broke or loose connections. if it was a fuel problem i dont think it would just start up after 20 minutes. or you might try your ignition switch. if its shorting or something then ya well it would cut your engine off real quick
