I intended to turn the ignition key just to get the electrical power on, and close a window. I accidently turned to far and started the ignition, but then immediately shut it off, not giving it a chance to actually start. Now the car is dead, dead, dead. Nothing has power - not lights, locks, anything. Turn the key and nothing happens. I think I must have blown the main fuse, but I can't find it. I've looked at all three fuse boxes, and pulled various fuses, but all look fine. But it isn't just one system that is dead, but all. The battery connections are good. What should I do?

make sure to check your fuses and ground wires first. when you are set on which part is bad do a quick check of everything else before you jump into it.

Have the alternator and battery checked. The battery may not be holding a charge. The alternator may not be charging the battery,it should put out between 14 and 15 volts, any less the alternator is bad.

I had this same exact problem in a family member's Saturn. If you are opening the door with the key and not using the key FOB to unlock the doors, then the security system will not allow you to start the car. You will notice when this happens that the dome light will blink and you'll hear the relay in the BCM clicking.
In order to stop the security system from doing this: Make sure the car is locked with the key fob by hitting the lock button. Then hit the unlock button on the key fob once and then once again (I do it out of habit). Then open the driver side door, put the key in and it should start no problem.

Hard call without inspecting it but it could possibly be a fuseable link. I am not familiar with newer models but sounds like a connection issue. If it has fuseable links then one could be bad. Had the exact same problem and I spent $350 on parts and a days labor until I found the link. 20 min later and $5 I fixed it. i was really frustrated but when another vehicle did it, I fixed it quick
