Where is the main fuse for my saturn 2000 l-series?

I intended to turn the ignition key just to get the electrical power on, and close a window. I accidently turned to far and started the ignition, but then immediately shut it off, not giving it a chance to actually start. Now the car is dead, dead, dead. Nothing has power - not lights, locks, anything. Turn the key and nothing happens. I think I must have blown the main fuse, but I can't find it. I've looked at all three fuse boxes, and pulled various fuses, but all look fine. But it isn't just one system that is dead, but all. The battery connections are good. What should I do?

make sure to check your fuses and ground wires first. when you are set on which part is bad do a quick check of everything else before you jump into it.

Have the alternator and battery checked. The battery may not be holding a charge. The alternator may not be charging the battery,it should put out between 14 and 15 volts, any less the alternator is bad.

SOURCE: '98 Saturn SL1 won't start. Alarm system behaving

I had this same exact problem in a family member's Saturn. If you are opening the door with the key and not using the key FOB to unlock the doors, then the security system will not allow you to start the car. You will notice when this happens that the dome light will blink and you'll hear the relay in the BCM clicking.

In order to stop the security system from doing this: Make sure the car is locked with the key fob by hitting the lock button. Then hit the unlock button on the key fob once and then once again (I do it out of habit). Then open the driver side door, put the key in and it should start no problem.

Hard call without inspecting it but it could possibly be a fuseable link. I am not familiar with newer models but sounds like a connection issue. If it has fuseable links then one could be bad. Had the exact same problem and I spent $350 on parts and a days labor until I found the link. 20 min later and $5 I fixed it. i was really frustrated but when another vehicle did it, I fixed it quick

Key won't turn the ignition 2000 s-series saturn

Test the battery if it does absolutely nothing when trying to turn over, if battery is good, check for a bad fuse possibly, check leads from ignition control module to the starter, possibly could be a bad ignition switch in the car. if the car attempts to turnover but wont start, you could be looking at a bad starter, fuel pump. Before you go too far into it though, just get the battery tested better to start small with these things, Good Luck!

2000 saturn LS1...ignition seems to be locked up. Battery functions, as well as the fuel pump, ignition coil, replaced the starter and crank sensor, and timing gears chain and water pump were all replaced...

Check power to starter motor and solenoid. If no power present on engine crank, then check ignition barrel, key and main fuses. If power present on cranking, but starter motor does not energize, then check starter connections and replace starter motor and solenoid if necessary.
Double check starter motor operation with starter removed from the engine. If it works, then check engine condition as this may be seized.

Ignition switch maybe , GM has problems with switch . Test it ! Do you know how to do automotive electrical testing ? Test main powers to the ignition switch . Back probe the B+ power wires Both are red at the ignition switch ! They get B+ from IGN A & IGN C fuse's in the under hood fuse/ relay box ! One is 40 amp , the other is 20 amp .
This problem your having you say happens when you turn the key , correct ? Turn the key to ? ON - START ? or doesn't matter ? The ignition switch supply's B+ voltage to all the things your losing power to.

Key can not turn ignition to start car

its common for the ignition lock cylinder or the ignition cylinder housing to fail on 2000-2001 L series saturns. Try using another key to see if that helps.

Ignition fuse keeps blowing when i turn the key

It MUST be the starter relay coil - or the power wire that feeds it. Likely a short in the relay coil (AKA starter selenoid).

ENGINE FLOODING ON START UP . . .

When starting any fuel injected vehicle you DO NOT need to press the gas peddle. Once the ignition is turned on the fuel pump energizes and fuel is injected into the intake.
