My battery died and my radio now wants a code to turn it on. i dont have it, but i dont know how to get to the radio to find out the number.
The code is not on the radio chassis.
The radio security code is stored on the factory vehicle information system at the dealer. You will need the serial number of the radio and the VIN number of the car as well. The code was provided to the original owner on a little card that also had instructions on how to enter it into the radio using the different buttons on the radio face. This code is a theft deterrent code, so it is on a secure Honda factory computer data base. There will be charge by the dealer most likely to give you the code is you don't have it, about $75.00.
You do not pull the dash you pull the radio out of the dash, and I don"t have the instructions to do that at hand, sorry. I have given you the answer on how to get the radio anti theft code, here they are again,1. pull the radio,2. record the radio serial number off the tag on the radio chassis,3. write down your cars Vehicle ID number 4. take this info to the dealer, they will access the data base for your car and it will return the radio code, they may or may not charge for this, if you are a good customer and have your services done there they will do it for free, if you never use the dealer service dept then they will charge a fee. It takes time to look up the code, time is money. If you want instructions on removing the radio you can buy access to the factory repair manuals here: www.alldatadiy.com I am just passing on this information, I have no affiliation with alldatadiy.com.

SOURCE: how do i enter the radio code on my acura rsx
When you turn on the radio and it says code, you need to press the station presets.according to you code. If you try to enter the code too many times and it says error, then you need to disconnect the battery and let it sit for about 10 minutes for the radio to clear and then reconnect the battery, When the radio says code try again. If that still fails you may have to visit your dealer to have him look into the problem.

We had the same problem. As advised from another website, we unhooked the battery and hooked the cables together for about 10 minutes. This reset the radio and allowed us to put in the 5-digit code. Now we're jammin'!
