SOURCE: car wont start

If you are not getting any spark to the plugs and everything else is fine than yes it would be the coil pack. also it could be the ecm if your vehicle is equipped with one.

SOURCE: engine turns over but won't fire up on seat ibiza

if oil is sitting on top of your plugs, it wont start. probably have a bad valve cover gasket. blow oil out and dry out the plug wire boots with carb cleaner.

I have a 1998 VW Golf. I have noticed that when it rains or when the car does not start. I have replaced spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, starter, battery, its been tuned, oil change. It still does...

You didn't mention distributor rotor. This part should be replaced with the dist. cap. If moisture in the ingnition circuit is the problem, try spraying entire ingnition system with WD40. This will waterproof wires cap coil and distributor.

Hi,my name is bobby,i have an 71 gto 455 ho motor,i put it into a 79 t/a.i changed it from points dist. to a hei.im havin a real hard time settin the timing, the book says set it at 12 degrees btdc.im...

Put the timing mark on the balancer at 0 degrees with the piston at top dead center. (piston at the top with both valves closed). Follow the #1 spark plug wire to the dist. cap and set the dist in so the rotor lines up with the the # 1 wire. Make sure the dist. is "seated" all the way. You might have to turn the engine a little to get it to seat fully. You set the timing with a light AFTER you start the engine. If you put the dist. in in the right spot you need only turn it very little either way to start the engine.

1/ Have you fitted the spark plug leads in the proper firing order.
2/ Look inside the top of distributor Top (this is not the first time a new distributer cap has very small crack) or the rotor arm is fitting the cap properly. Hope this helps Best Wishes, Malcolm Campbell.

My 92 automatic 1.8l subie wagon new dist coil wires plugs cap rotor starter. alt is newer still no spark but rotor is turning drove home turned off car did not start again did this the first time and...

try and use the factory recomended coil, incorrect coil can heat up and than not acheive the required discharge to fire the plugs. also will lead to the coil failing, or ECM faulting and throwing a Check Engine Light.

1984 volkswagen crank no start getting fuel and spark

You must have the plug leads in the wrong place on the distributor.
Firing order is 1-3-4-2
Remove the distributor cap. There is a tiny mark on the aluminum body where the cap sits on it. Turn the motor clockwise by hand until the rotor lines up with this mark. #1 plug lead should be in the distributor cap hole closest to the rotor in a clockwise direction.
If the motor still does not start rotate all the plug leads 180 Deg.
