Hi
I'm here in cape town south africa. I have a 97 ford escort 1.4 l vtec . There's been an old leak upfront for a few months now. I've replaced the oil cap. I've put a new cork gasket seal on the head cover but there's a steady drip . Slow drip but after the engine stops it'll drop a small amount every time. I've cleaned up around the right front around the clutch and have pin pointed the problem around the rubber seal where the clutch arm connects the engine via that serated pin. The little seal seems to be loose and leaking. How does one replace this item themselves? I haven't done it before but is it possible to replace the seal without getting to involved in the engine?
Any advice will be wellcomed.
Kind Regards
Bruce
It sounds like your valve cover is bent, you may need to buy a new one, did you use any gasket sealer with the cork gsket? if not remove the valve cover and use gasket sealer..... Apply it driectly to the cork gasket...... if you did not use sealeant this is why it is leaking.
