the same fuse that controls the lights on the vehicle as the trailer plug is attached to the vehicle light wires . If you have a problem with trailer lights then check the wires in both plugs and make sure that you have the trailer earthed through a pin in the plugs and not through the tow ball.

Hello. Both of my 12v outlets went out @ the same time on my 2011 Jetta TDI. Our dealership wanted us to bring it in to have it fixed. I decided to do some research and Pepboys came to the rescue. They printed me a fuse box diagram and a list of what goes w/ what fuse. Fuse location #30 is connected to the 12 v . It is a light yellow 20Amp fuse. It cost 4 dollars for 2 fuses and solved the problem.

Yep it sure is..must be a short in trailer wiring and it burnt the fuse up.
