What transmission will fit in an 89 gmc sierra?

I need to replace a transmission in an 89 GMC Sierra. I am looking for one at a junk yard. What other years/models will work in this truck? Thanks.

        what size engine do you have

        is the truck 2 or 4 wheel drive

        is your truck a 1500, 2500, or 3500 series

    it has a 383 strocker, its a 2 wheel drive and its a 1500

    yes, and i can feel it go into reverse but when i put my foot on the peddel a little bit it sounds like its in nutral

If it has a 4.3 liter motor a 86 to a 97 if it has a 350 motor a 81 to a 96 will work hope this helps

1989 has 3 transmissions that fit, the 3 speed TH350, and TH400 (D, 2 &1) and if equiped with over drive or 4 spped the TH700 R4 (OD, 3, 2 & 1) Shift indicator will show which speed transmission you have but the fluid pan configuration idenfies the exact type of 3 or 4 speed.

The front door speakers are not working, but from time to time they come on for a brief moment. also, the door chime only works if the front door speakers are working. weirdest thing i've ever seen....
The door chime is played over the speaker. I had the same issue the speaker was junk. The circuit resistance was correct but no tunes. Replaced the speaker with one from the junk yard and sounds great all the time.

4l60e tranny swap
No the 4l60e is a electronic transmission you need to find a 700r4 transmission which are very common. Check with your local junk yards and are pretty easy to install. About a full days worth of work for a person with general know how of vehicles.
