About 3 weeks ago my check engine light came on with this same code. I replaced the O2 sensor close to the engine and the problem seemed to be resolved. My check engine light came back on two days ago with the same code. We could only locate one O2 sensor. Is there a second? What else could be causing this code to come up besides the O2 sensor?
Perhaps cat. converter going bad causing back pressure. Chevy replaces them free up to
100,000 miles.
You should have three oxygen sensors on your car, one for each bank of three cylinders; should be towards the Y pipe on each exhaust manifold. Additionally you should have one on the exhaust pipe before the cadilitic converter.
