Transmission seems to not winding down

While driving my 2002 olds alero my transmission seems to not find down. It makes a loud contionous humm. Where can we check the transmission fluid?

Sorry wrong this is an eletronic transmision and can be simply a stuck soloniod in the valve body.

Shoudl b a separate dip stick to transmision & to check car has to b running...if that dont solve the problem if fluids r fin need to replace/rebuild trany

2002 Oldsmobile Alero makes loud noises when turning

more than likely it is just low on power steering fluid. system might have air in it now. so after fill power steering unit to proper level driver the car and check fluid level again. and add more if needed . I believe car should have motor running for when checking fluid, same as transmission.

sounds like your ABS sensor is bad. The ABS sensor controls the trac. control. but it wouldnt effect daily driving. you would only notice it if you slamed on the brakes on a slick surface. the brakes will lock up like they ARE NOT supposed to.

Your Alero does not have a transmission dip stick. You do not need to check it unless it starts leaking.

Front differential making a winding noise and ends in a loud thump.

sounds like you need your transfer case looked at and repaired.....that the only thing i can think of...hope it helps :)
