One day my car started feeling bogged down and my ESP light came on. When I went to go at a red light it wouldn't move until i reved the engine to 2 RMP then the ESP light came on and stayed on. Had it hooked to a machine and all the codes came up that meant nothing. Do i need to have the ESP system replaced???

It could mean that some emission-control device has failed or is due for replacment. Common items would be oxygen sensor (not too expensive) and catalytic convertor (pretty expensive).

if it continuously runs slow after stepping on the gas w/ poor milage it MAY be something clogged in your exhaust. However I'm having similar probs but a simple "turn engine off and restart" doesn't fix it as mine is misfiring...

The problems need to be fixed before they erase the codes otherwise the codes will reappear. I hope they didnt do that just so the warranty would run out.

Hey mate, Had exactly the same problem. Suggest you take the car to your local auto transmission repair centre (not holden) and they can check the electrical diagnostics - if it the Transmission inhibitor Switch (as it was on mine - if so should cost you no more than 1 hour labour and about $75 - $95 for the switch.

Hello
The engine in you car is electronically fuel injected and the whole system is controlled by a digital computer called the "PCM" or Powertrain Control Module, so whenever you experience a problem like you are having with the Service engine soon light on this means the PCM has detected a fault in the system and it has set a fault code or codes for this fault. What you must have done 1st to begin the process of diagnosis of the problem is have the PCM hooked up to a tool called a Scanner, it connects at a diagnostic port under the dash in front of the driver, it will pull the codes out of of the memory of the PCM and display a a message that indicates which system of the electronic controls is at fault, this can be a wiring problem or a sensor issue, other areas are loss of proper fuel pressure due to a failing pump or even the PCM module is defective, but that is rare.
