I am getting a PO141 from my car. I checked the heater circuit on both upstream and downstream O2 sensors and get 4.9 ohms and 4.7 ohms respectively. I also verified that I had 12 VDC and ground at both locations. That tells me I am getting power, and both heater circuits are intact. What else could cause this code?
A code P0141 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: open or short to ground in the wiring harness O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance O2 heater element resistance is high Internal short or open in the heater element Note: Typically a failed catalytic converter does not cause this code. You're more likely to see a P0420 code for a failed converter
SOURCE: Upstream O2 sensor location?
That is the first sensor closest to the engine. The downstream sensor is the one behind the converter.
Good luck.

SOURCE: Code P0141. O2 Sensor heater circuit fault (Bank1,
It is probably the sensor before the cat. if it has a heater. The heater circuit going bad is a common problem, it does not affect the way the car runs after it warms up, it is an emission device to heat the O2 sensor up quicker than the hot exhaust gas would. It should be replaced because it will keep your check engine light on and you would not be able to pass an emission test.
SOURCE: code po141 heater circut sensor/where do i find
code is not for heater circuit,
code p0141=O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2
that means its an oxygen sensor located in bank 1 which is the drivers side, sensor 2 means its the downstream sensor after the convertor

go to autozone and have them code check the numbers for you they will give the info from the codes for free if you ask them the wont tell how to fix it but codes will be explained on the print out and its free service

Well it could be the wiring too the sensor, a software issue that
requires flashing the pcm or the sensor you purchased is not working too
the same standards that the old one was. Did you use a one type fit
alls 02 sensor that uses the old connector and you have to splice the
wires? Read this info...
P0133 - Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank1, Sensor1)
What does that mean?
This involves the front oxygen sensor on Bank 1. This code indicates the engine air fuel ratio is not being adjusted by the oxygen sensor signal or the ECM as expected to do so, or not adjusted as often as expected to do so once the engine is warmed or under normal engine use.
Symptoms:
You will likely not notice any drivability problems, although there may be symptoms.
Causes:
A code P0133 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* The oxygen sensor is faulty
* The wiring to the sensor is broken / frayed
* There is an exhaust leak
Possible Solutions:
The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
If the code comes back, the problem is more than likely the front Bank 1 oxygen sensor. You will likely wind up replacing it but you should also consider these possible solutions:
* Check and fix any exhaust leaks
* Check for wiring problems (shorted, frayed wires)
* Check the frequency and amplitude of the oxygen sensor (advanced)
* Check for a deteriorating / contaminated oxygen sensor, replace if necessary
* Check for inlet air leaks
* Check the MAF sensor for proper operation
P0141 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 2)
What does that mean?
This code means that the heated circuit in the oxygen sensor on bank 1 decreases time needed to enter closed loop. As the O2 heater reaches operating temperature, the oxygen sensor responds by switching according to oxygen content of the exhaust surrounding it. The ECM tracks how long it takes for the oxygen sensor to begin switching. It the ECM determines (based on coolant temp) that too much time elapsed before the oxygen sensor began operating properly, it will set P0141. See also: P0135 (Bank 1, Sensor 1).
Symptoms:
You will likely notice poor fuel economy the illumination of the Check Engine Light.
Causes:
A code P0141 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* open or short to ground in the wiring harness
* O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
* O2 heater element resistance is high
* Internal short or open in the heater element
Note: Typically a failed catalytic converter does not cause this code. You're more likely to see a P0420 code for a failed converter.
Possible Solutions:
* Replace oxygen sensor (cannot repair open or short that occurs internally to sensor)
* Repair short or open or high resistance in wiring harness or harness connectors
Hope helps (remember rated and comment this).
