I have had the same problem on both Headlights at different times on my 2002 Envoy. I had to replace bulb sockets. Sockets with pigtail can be purchased at most auto parts stores. Make sure to put conductive lube on terminals when reinstalling.

Circuit board is likely the culprit, also check individual fuses, and do not touch new bulb's glass surface with bare hands, as the oil in your skin will cause bulb to fail prematurely

Does your husban know how to do electrical testing ? Find a wiring diagram , voltage drop test the circuit to find what's missing power or ground . The hit could have damaged wiring or ground . You can find a wiring diagram at http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Also watch youtube video on Mastering Voltage Drop Testing with Pete Meier and Jerry Truglia .

Change 04 envoy bulb

Headlight Replacement (Envoy)

Lift hood, at top of each headlight assembly look for two L-shaped tabs. Pull these tabs straight up, this will release the headlight assembly. Lift assembly forward to gain access to rear of assembly. There two rubber caps, the top one is for access to the low beam and the bottom for the high beam bulbs. Remove the appropriate cap, grasp bulb socket and turn CCW to release. Unplug bulb from socket by releasing catch on side of socket, install new bulb, DO NOT touch bulb glass with fingers. Reverse steps to re-assemble.

2006 GMC Envoy low beam headlights dont work. All fuses, and bulb filements, are fine.

Hello, try to start by checking the headlight relay and headlight fuse. You also may want to check to make sure the bulbs aren't blown out. If those parts check out to be fine and in working order, you may need to replace the turn signal assembly in the steering column. This part controls the hi/low beams. This may sound crazy but, when GM wired their older trucks, they wired the headlights to go from the battery, to the hi/low beam switch, then to the headlight switch (to the left of the steering wheel) then out to the light bulbs. You can kind of test to see if this part is good by making a fist and (with your headlights on) gently hitting the plastic cover for your steering column that is right behind your actual steering wheel. This could cause your headlights to flicker on and off.

Thanks

How to change low beams on gmc 2005 envoy

Open hood, look for two L-shaped tabs on top of the headlight assemblies, pull these straight up. This will release the assembly. lift assembly out as far as wiring harness will allow, look for a circular rubber cap on the rear side of the assembly, the top cap is for the low beam, remove cap and turn bulb socket CCW to release socket. Unplug old bulb and install new, DO NOT touch bulb glass. Re-assemble in reverse order.

2005 GMC Envoy passanger headlight

first, did you touch the bulb with your fingers when you put it in? if so it is likely you blew the bulb, you can not touch the glass of the bulb.

If that is not the problem, make sure the wiring going to the socket is not cracked corroded or pulled out.

How to replace the headlights on my 2003 GMC envoy.

The headlights on the envoy are the easiest parts of the car to repair. You just pull the two tabs at the top of the headlights, screw out the bulb containers and you are good to go
