SOURCE: stalls at idle

I had the same issue with the same car....turned out to be my Idle Air Control Valve. The mechanic cleaned it out and so far my car runs fine. Actually, a little better than before. It wound up costing me $88.00 for the mechanic and $45.00 for the tow. Hope this helps you out.

Oh by the way, it would've cost me $475.00 to get the part replaced...

SOURCE: 1988 Honda won't start

Cycle key to on, not start, and see if you hear fuel pump "humming". What engine, and is this vehicle carburetor or fuel injected?

SOURCE: running rough, wont idle, bad gas smell

Possible injector failure. locate by disconnecting injectors one at a time. The one that makes no change is the questionable. Status of spark plugs need chkg also. pull the plugs an the one that looks washed is questionable good luck

SOURCE: how to adjust choke on 87 honda accord

It might just need cleaning. Spray some PB Blaster around the throttle arm where the cable connects to at the base of the carb, and see if that frees up the flaps. And while spraying, fiddle with the throttle linkage.

1988 honda accord lxi- will start if I spray starting fluid into the throttle body. will not start in hot weather

Clogged fuel injectors. Or, starting fluid is basically high octane fuel which doesnt require efficient or hot spark plugs to start, so maybe you need to look at your ignition system, especially your spark plugs, wires, or cup rotors -- perhaps they are not delivering a hot enough spark for regular fuel. While at it, also check the ignition timing. In other words, clean your injectors and get a tune up. Finally, make sure the throttle body is not leaking air.

Won't start @ times.

Sounds like an ignition module problem. Not to hard to change, they are inside the distributor2d5b6c4.jpg.
