Headlights wont click on but park lights do
SOURCE: no parking lights on my 1993 Jeep Cherokee
Recap of my problem:
no parking lights, have headlights, light switch seems to have sweet spot that turns on both head lights and parking lights.
Solution is:
Blown fuse on 15, it works the radio, parking lights, dome lights.

Wiring can get complicated, however that is not a super complicated system (gets bad on the 96 and newer models) You should be able to test circuits at the switch. Be aware that if this has a "Daylite Running Lamp" system it may add some additional circuits. You're best bet is your local library for info. They should have "All Data" or something simular or possibly a Factory manual.
Good luck with that. Let me know how it works for you?
I had an S-70 with the same problem what happens is the headlight switch tabs that hol it together broke and the switch was slightly separated and connection was not there for the headlights and also check the high beam see if headlights come on i dont think it is a relay or fuse??? proballally the headlight switch and easy to replace you even can use one from an 850 model

well i had the same problem and replaced the headlight switch. Once i had done this the headlights would come on but the parking lights and taillights dont work. If you want to try anyway you have to take out the instrument panel and the lower panel. Once you do that there is a release button on the bottom of the switch. Press that and pull the knob out. It took a little jiggling to get mine out. Once the knob is out you will see behind it that there is a screw like thing with a very large flathead slot. take a flathead and unscrew this. once you do the switch will be loose. pull it out and remove wiring harness.

had the same problem on my 92....check under the hood on the drivers side, towards the front, there is a "junction box" with all of the lighting wires connecting from the switches to the lights. My wires were all corroded inside,so I cleaned the ends and bought a new box from the local electronic supply store. The problem has not come back.
Cheers
