If this fuse box diagram below is correct you have a fuse for left low beam head light and another fuse for right low beam head light and a third fuse for both the high beam headlights. If the fuse is good for the right I think I would take the left low beam head light and put on the right side and see if it works on the right side. If you think you got the wiring correct. It may be the bulb is bad from the wires which shorted out. A voltmeter or test light to the socket would save some time switching the lights. Dead battery. You must have left the headlights on or something. Sometimes when you turn your lights on from the passenger side without opening the driver-side door, the headlights may not go out automatically. Been there, done that!
You will have to check there is an output voltage from the switch ( suspect plug connector) . If you say the fuses are ok then you will have to try either a relay or fuse box connector . Good luck
I had a similar problem with my 2002 Taurus. I removed the dash and pulled out the display behind the steering wheel. I reseated all the light bulbs behind the display. Everything has worked fine since. You will find more info on how to do this if you search the internet.
