Can't fine an arrow to line up timing marks.

1995 Nissan Hardbody XE Shortbed. 4 cylinder, 2wd, 5 speed.
I would like to set the ignition timing on my truck. The marks on the driveshaft pully are not hard to find, but I can't find anything on the engine to line the marks up with. Is the engine missing a part.

Hi. The older style engines had a metal arrow on the front timing cover. The newer ones may have a small raised area on the timing cover. It might be best to spray the area down with a can of brake kleen and then wipe the area down with a rag.

I have a 1995 nissan xe 4 cylinder 5 speed truck. I used a test light to check my fuse box. The top row of fuses are not getting any power. Why?

Without investigating the wiring diagram, my first guess would be a broken wire or bad connection. It is possible that these fuses are fed via an auxiliary supply and that this supply is not being triggered if coming through a relay/operating device.

How-to-reset-the-timing-chain-on-a-nissan-hardbody-4x4-1996-pickup-truck-2.4

Basically the timing chain in every vehicle is set up on the following principal No 1 cylinder is at TDC on compression stroke " meaning both valves intake and exhaust are closed and the ignition rotor should also be lined up with No 1 ignition lead . On the timing chain sprockets there will be a mark on each that align or point to each other and u fit as such.
As long as u make sure your on no 1 cylinder compression stroke and cyl is at top dead centre then line up the sprockets u'll be sweet

When driving in 5th gear should the RPMs run at 3000 RMPS. Mine is a 4 cly 5 speed

You don't provide much information to go on (type of vehicle, type of engine, 2wd or 4wd, etc.) RPM is always going to be based on the speed you're traveling with a standard transmission. My 4 cyl 5 speed Nissan pickup in 5th gear runs at 3000 RPM at about 75mph.

MY 1997 NISSAN XE 2.4 LITER, 4 CYLINDER, 5-SPEED STANDARD 2WD TRUCK WILL NOT GO IN REVERSE WITH VEHICLE BEING STILL WITHOUT KNOCKING IT IN GREAR WITH YOUR FIST BUT IT WILL GO IN GEAR IF YOU ARE COASTING...

With the vehicle sitting still, ease the clutch out just a little bit while trying to engage reverse. If it pops in, even with a little grinding, it seems the bearings on the counter shaft may be a little stiff. Have you checked the level of the gear lube in the transmission?
