Battery appears to be drained on our 2007 Suzuki XL-7, roadside assistance tells us that we need a jump but also need to bypass/work around the "Theft-Deterrent" system. They sent out two companies to assist (also insisting they would know how to do the work around) but both were clueless when it came to the "Theft-Deterrent" system. Does anyone here know how to bypass this system so we can instruct the next company how to complete the jump correctly? Roadside Assistance tells us they actually do not know. Car is stuck in our carport and nearest dealership is an hour away. Please help.

i would say thats a good idea, if you got an extended warranty! from most of the symptoms i would say it sounded like your alternator was hooped. the clicking from the dash...if it's coming from the engine side it sould be your solinoid which clicks back and forth to open and close the circuit to send the signal for the started to crank when you turn the key. why it would be on when everythings is off and then shut off when you open the door i don't know. sorry i couldn't more (if any) help
