What year transmissions will fit in a 93 Honda Civic EX 1.6 Liter FWD?

Transmission shifts fine in 1-2nd gear at 2,000 rpm. From 2-3rd it shifts at a higher rpm n slips. I drained the ****** fluid n it was black and the magnetic drain plug had metal shavings in it. My question is what other year car with the same ****** will fit in my 93 or will another year fit on my 1.6 Liter FWD engine? Can you help me cuz I know nothin about these cars?! LMAO

Have your transmission rebuilt by accredited professional transmission shops that offer a 12 month warranty
you can get transmission from importers and many from reputable dealers are quality units with low miles
stick with the OEM unit as any variations will cause electronic problems

Check both O2 sensor(s) and catalytic coverter.. P0420 means catalyst below threshold. Also check the sensor at the transmission and solenoid.

What you need to check is the transmission release bearing because if there is a clearance on the release bearing you will encounter this problem and also check the transmission oil.

SOURCE: 96 honda accord ex transmission shift problem

the first common possibilty would be to check fluid level, if the fluid level is good, I would recommend changing the transaxle fluid and filter. if this does not correct the issue, a professional transmission repair person will need to diagnose for you, good luck!

93 Chevy, gear shift **** between 2nd and 3rd

Remove the fluid - get a good flash light - get a very long screw driver - put the screw driver into the drain hole and force the transmission out of gear. Then remove the Transmission and replace or repair. Cheaper to replace. You bent the forks on the shift mechanism.
