Transmission shifts fine in 1-2nd gear at 2,000 rpm. From 2-3rd it shifts at a higher rpm n slips. I drained the ****** fluid n it was black and the magnetic drain plug had metal shavings in it. My question is what other year car with the same ****** will fit in my 93 or will another year fit on my 1.6 Liter FWD engine? Can you help me cuz I know nothin about these cars?! LMAO

the 1995 explorer has a pressure valve that can get clogged pretty easily is the truck slow to change from P to D or R to D if so i would change the valve i think its around $50 last time i bought one.
The metal shavings do not indicate anything good i'm afraid was there big pieces? alot of shavings or just a few?

you need to replace clutch pack for that gear can be ordered seperately from parts store or dealer if you want to save money call peach street auto recycling at 1800-365-2341 for a warrantied used one! also might be time for change trans filter and fluid filter could be slightly clogged but I lean towards clutch pack I replace these alot on Hondas

Check both O2 sensor(s) and catalytic coverter.. P0420 means catalyst below threshold. Also check the sensor at the transmission and solenoid.

What you need to check is the transmission release bearing because if there is a clearance on the release bearing you will encounter this problem and also check the transmission oil.

the first common possibilty would be to check fluid level, if the fluid level is good, I would recommend changing the transaxle fluid and filter. if this does not correct the issue, a professional transmission repair person will need to diagnose for you, good luck!
