It calls for a 20 amp fuse and i put one in and it blowed on my way to work yesterday and then i put in a 25 amp fuse after that one blowed and it blew on my way home tonight then i stopped at a gas station and put a 30 amp fuse in it and it blew before i even put my truck in park so i had to just drive home with one foot on the brake and the other on the gas!
Check your tail light and other running light sockets for corrosion.
Pull each and every bulb to check it, also check the back side of the socket.
(Your headlights are not part of this circuit.)
Rust or water with rust will conduct enough current to blow the fuses.
Please revert back to the 20 amp fuse, as you may damage the wires leading to the bulbs in places you won't be able to find or fix.
It's unlikely that it's one of the actual light bulbs, all light bulbs tend to go open instead of shorted, but you can check them too.
Im having similar problems with my kia. everytime i turn my running lights on it blows the fuse
SOURCE: no brake lights, fuses keep blowing and wont shift out of park
I would look for a wiring short in the trunk at the taillamp area, or, inspect the sockets for the taillamp bulbs for corrosion. In any case, you have a short circuit in the trunk area, also check the wire that comes from the body & goes up the trunk hinge on the driver side; that wire may be chafed, and it may be shorting out. Hope this helps; please get back to me if you need any further assistance.
