Take a can of carburetor cleaner aresol and spray the gasket areas while the engine is running. When the RPM's rises that is where the leaky area of the gasket is that needs to be replaced

make sure handbrake is off take wheel off hit the drum with a mallet not steel,as it will brake,hit on outter diametter face of drum, try and rotate as you twist off

I just changed the plugs (and one COP coil) on my 2002 Escape V6. Yes, you have to remove the upper intake to get to the 3 plugs on the rear bank. It's not very difficult. The o-ring -like gasket set is about $10 from Autozone.

Replace the intake gasket. But need to know if it is upper or lower intake, it is a 2 piece manifold.
