sounds like the drivers side key switch has failed remove the interior door panel and there will be a switch attached to the back of the key lock cylinder or around there it should be two or three wires also check the door jamb wire harness where the door closes for any broken or damaged wires, use a vot meter and see if you get power or ground to the opposite side of the switch when you use the key to lock and unlock the door if nothing changes and there is power or ground! at this switch i would replace it, i don't think there is one but if the car has a passenger side key hole try to unlock the car from that side and see if you get the same problem -jeff

If there is nothing jammed in the barrel, you will need to pull apart the lining of the interior of the door, disconnect the power motor for that switch, then see if it locks by key, sounds like the motor is seized, of out of allignment, easily fixed with a second hand or reco motor, or witha simple adjustment. Good luck, hope it helps.

I used to install power locks on cars. Lets see if I can help...
Take off your door panel, find the small rod that is connected to the door lock itself (the part that actually shows if the door is locked or not) There should be an actuator of some sort connected to the small rod that pushes back and forth when you hit the lock button. This may have popped off or is loose/bent...
Or, There may be module inside the door that controls your locks either way, pop off your door panel and see what you got!
