Does it shift rough due to the idle speed of the engine? If I had to make a guess, it sound like the distributor cap has water in it or has melted a bit. Check into that. Could be a bad spark plug or wire too.

Why does my 1995 z71 turn off when I put it in drive an reverse?

More than likely the automatic idle speed control valve is dirty along with the throttle valve, clean them as outlined below.

To correct this problem Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (it is made by CRC) from the local auto parts store, NEVER USE CARB CLEANING SPRAY, IT DESTROYS THE ANTI-STICK TEFLON COATING, spray it into the air intake through the throttle body of the engine until you have used about half the can, you will need to hold the idle up while you do this, it will try to stall, after this shut the engine down and disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable for 5 minutes. The intake is now clean, if you continue to have the idle speed control problems you may need to seek the help of a professional.

1995 gmc sierra 1500 automatic transmission idles fast, and late shifts

Do you have a service engine light on? If so the first thing to do would be to check for what codes may be stored.
You can also check for vacuum leaks. A good place for a leak is the TB base gasket. Those start to leak and give a fast idle.
As for the late shifts, just about all you can do is check fluid level. The shifts are computer controled. 93+ trucks have the 4L60E. Not even a TV cable to check adjustment on.
Fix the fast idle and the late shifts issue may go away.

2000 grand prix, 3800 when it warms up losses power

I would have to say the fuel/water separator filter is clogged up. The filter will remove water and crud from the gas. It looks more like a small can under the car. If the car set up with a low tank of gas, water will condensate inside and once the new fuel sloshes around it gets all this junk off the walls of the tank and that gets sucked in the filter. Try and replace that first..

Hesitation to take the gas

have someone check the light ,but i would have to say that the EGR valve may be opening too soon causing a vaccum leak

Did you check the coupling between the drive shaft and the tranny for wear? (universal joint)

Have someone in the car and lay on ground nearby so you can see the universal joint when they put it in gear. DO NOT lay under car when they put it in gear!
