Hi there:
Your vehicle is equipped with StabiliTrak, which combines antilock
brake, traction and stability control systems and helps the driver
maintain directional control of the vehicle in most driving conditions.
Traction control activates when the controller senses wheel spin.
StabiliTrak will selectively apply the brakes and reduce engine torque
to help regain traction.
Stability control activates when the controller senses a
discrepancy between your intended path and the direction the vehicle is
travelling. StabiliTrak selectively applies braking pressure at any one
of the vehicle's brakes to help guide the vehicle in the direction which
you are steering.
When you first start your vehicle and begin to drive away, the
system performs several diagnostic checks to insure there are no
problems. You may hear or feel the system working. This is normal and
does not mean there is a problem with your vehicle. If driving
conditions delay system initialization, the STABILITRAK NOT READY
message may be displayed. If this is the case, your vehicle does not
need servicing.
When the StabiliTrak system is both on and actively controlling the
stability of the vehicle, the StabiliTrak light will blink for the
duration of the event.
You may also feel or hear the system working. This is normal.
StabiliTrak will turn off automatically if a problem is detected in
the system. The StabiliTrak light will come on and SERVICE STABILITRAK
will be displayed on the DIC. For vehicles without a DIC, the
StabiliTrak light and the StabiliTrak service light will both come on.
If the SERVICE STABILITRAK message (or StabiliTrak service light) does
not clear itself after restarting the vehicle, you should see your
dealer for service.
Hope this helps.
Remember todays vehicle are drive by wire systems when stabil-trac light goes on the best way to fix issue is to clean throttle body and air bypass valve and mass air flow sensor ,since the tps controls electric motor that opens throttle plates, any carbon or varnish will hamper this operation causing ecm to go into limp mode and iluminating stabiltrac light on.cleaning with
brake clean or electronics spray cleaner. then clear codes and your issues are gone,if you don't have a scanner take your vehicle to autozone to have codes cleared

The stabilittrak and service brake light would come on and stay on after 20 minutes of driving. I also realized the hatch wouldn't open when I used my door opener button or the button on the truck itself. We ended up just getting someone to look at the brakes. We needed to replace all 4 brakes pads, rotors, one calliper. The calliper was changed due to human error. These repairs fixed everything. Total parts were 900.00. I had my brakes changed before and I remember my hatch button didn't work then and asked them to fix it. Don't pay for that repair, I paid for them to fix this. The hatch problem fixes itself, once you change the brakes.
I changed my rear brakes on my 06 dts and now I get stabilitrak and traction control warnings. I had it reset last time by my tech but he moved. I just need the reset
