Bad oil leak in 2001 ot cruiser

Pretty big ouddle of oil under the car today, dont know where itrs leaking from. I know the valve cover leaks but wouldnt leak THAT much. no smoke from tailpipe when driving and no over heating. I had an oil change not long ago and it was fine, so i just checked the filter and the drain plug, they seem ok. What else could cause a big leak like that under the engine that would leave a big mess

A couple of leaks can be fairly large. An Oil Pan leak where you will see oil seeping down the sides of the pan and dripping directly below. The other is a Rear Main Bearing Seal leak and the oil will be coming from where the engine meets the transmission.

SOURCE: repeat bad o2 sensors, oil burning, engine cuts in clutch

You may have a blown heads. Try by replacing the oil pressure sensor located in the rear of the engine. Second clean the throttle body by taking off the hoses. Get the cleaner from the auto parts store. Clean throttle body, air intakes, air filter, new oil filter, and have your feul injectors services. Did you check under the car for oil leaks? Try placing a white sheet under the car to see if you have a bad oil spill. Make sure all harness wires are not shorting out. Alot of wires are placed close to heat sources and could melt them. Yoyu just have to replace the melted section and reroute the wiring........runjoe

This is a common problem with Sebring convertibles. There are drain plugs under the rocker-panels (underneath the car door frame). These drain plugs get clogged with dirt. Have them cleaned and your problem will be solved.

SOURCE: 2002 Chrysler Sebring LTD Convertible, Mileage 58,300. Oil leak

This car came with a 70,000 mile drive train warranty. Take it back to the dealer, or contact Chrysler and your local ABC, CBS, or NBC affiliate, and let them know that the dealer is trying to screw you on their service and on Chrysler's coverage.

Ge it on the national news and I will bet your dealer will have this car fixed within a couple of days.

Embarrass the stuffing out of them!

Hi i have a 1994 dodge caravan it is leaking oil can this be fix im worry that we would have to save money for a van for my kids thanks

The Chrysler minivan products all had leaking problems. I have had 5 or 6 different Dodge or Plymouth minivans from 88 to 99. How bad is it. The most common thing is Valve cover leaks. Front and rear seals in the engine leak as well as the oil pan gasket. If its leaking a little bit at a time open the hood and look at the front and rear of the engine. Do you see grease and oil that has gone down the sides of the engine? Do you see a lot of grease on the engine with some clean streaks going through it. You may be able to see where its leaking from. If you know someone that knows what their doing have them change the leaky gasket/s. If not you can probably have it repaired for less than buying another van unless other things are seriously wrong with the van.
Hope this helps... Dale

I have a 2001 Saturn L. Oil is leaking, it is not the head gasket. Tore engine apart and replaced gaskets. Stopped leaking for about 6-7 months and it started to leak again. Did oil change last week...

If you have no visible signs of oil leaking out of the engine then the oil is being burnt. By visible leaking I mean a small puddle of oil under the car after having been left overnight. This can be cured by replacing shaft seals and gaskets. Burning oil is visible as smoke under deceleration (no throttle) and under full power(flooring it). This is due to worn/old valve stem seals(smoke under deceleration) and worn oil rings(smoke under acceleration) This can only be cured by a major engine overhaul or engine replacement. Bear in mind that losing a pint of oil in 1000 miles is acceptable.

There is a oil puddle unnder my 1992 nissan pickup every time i move but the oil level is fine????? and i know it's leaking because i got under it and ran my finger along the oil pan and it was wet with...

you could have leaking valve cover gaskets leaking or a bad oil sending unit (oil pressure gague) .. make sure the oil is not red .. that wiould be a transmission leak .. over thghtning of the oil filter can cause leaks .. a clogged PCV valve can force oil out thru seals .. one way to track down leaks .. is to spray the engine with an engine solvent like Gunk .. then wash that off with a hose after it sits for a few minutes (keep water out of distributer).. that will clean the surfaces pretty good .. then it becomes obvious where leaks are coming from ..
if the oil turns out to be red in color . then look for hoses from the transmission to the radiator (transmission cooler) .. those frequently leak ..
