Had to manually disarm my alarm 2003 Tiburon, but why?

My alarm would set off when I tried to start my car and I found in another forum that I had to set it to "On" until the alarm stopped sounding. Then turn the key to off, wait 30 seconds, and then start the car and it would disarm the alarm and my car would start. Which it did. What I want to know is why did my alarm malfunction and why does this work to disarm it?

I belive all you have to do is put the key in the ignition and turn it counter clockwise. Hopefully that works for you.

My 2000 hyundai tiburon alarmed itself and the alarm is sounding. I have no remote control that works.

Put key in ignition, turn all the way forward, but not trying to start. Let alarm cycle 2 times, when it stops the 2nd time, remove key and alarm should be disarmed. This will only work if it is a factory alarm.

My battery died on my 2003 tiburon and i tried to boost it and the lights start blinking and the siren goes off but the car won't start

Hello there,

Your Immobiliser has activated the alarm, you must deactivate the immobiliser to deactivate the alarm. go into the car (even if siren is wailing and your neighbours are nosy) close the door and put key in the ignition, turn key to ACC position. Hold down unlock button till you see indicators flash once. Remove keys and get out of the vehicle. Try unlocking and locking. This should be reset.

Cheers Buckaroo,
Chris.

The car alarm and key pad will not disarm and the car will not start.

Normal system operation - when the burglar alarm is active, the starter circuit is disabled. Is the battery dead or weak in the keyless remote? Also, is the remote you have been programmed for this vehicle? If the answer is 'yes' to both questions, replace the battery in the remote. Otherwise, place your ignition key in the ignition and turn the key to 'run' (or 'ON") wait 5 minutes, the vehicle should start (if the battery isn't dead).

2003 Tiburon GT Remote Key

Seriously don't use the factory alarm system / keyless entry.

While my car was under warranty, the alarm malfunctioned and it wouldn't disarm. The solution was to have the car towed to a dealership and install a new BCM. This would have cost me over $1,000 - and it's not an isolated case.

Don't get a Hyundai key fob. Have an after market alarm / keyless entry installed. It will be cheaper & easier.
