In summer of year 2007, I bought a 2001 Dodge Intrepid with lock up motor. I swap the bad motor out and put new motor into it from my another 2000 Dodge Intrepid (warranty paid for it new motor on 2000 Dodge intrepid and 10 K miles on the motor before the wreckage and after the car got wreck and motor still runs like champs.) After I swap the motor on 2001 Intrepid. The car ran for 3 times of to start up the ignition and it shutted off itself. never able to start it up. I check out on research through the networking (such as website, internet, make phone call on the line.) also find out said that PCM (Powertrainer Control Module) was fried itself due error coding with engine after swap the different motor in the car such as antitheft system. I replace new PCM (PCM was broken and replace) and still won't start and start to realized that I notice that I turn ignition on and everything works come light on (Door, trunk, mileage digit, and window, sunroof, wiper, are work come light on.) transmission "R-P-N-D-2-1" digit don't come light on same with check engine. oil, battery, temperature, gas, and cruise aren't work come on light. THAT SIGN SHOW ME SEEM SO WAS IT TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) FRIED TOO AND ONE OF THEM THAT CONTROL FOR ANTITHEFT SYSTEM TO MAKE CAR WON'T TO START? Please answer my question if you can? Many thanks, DAVID.

The MAP sensor and Knock Sensor are both very easily replaced. A better scanner will tell you which sensor is going bad on your transmission. An Autozone code reader will not tell you which sensor on the trans. is acting up. Most sensors on your trans. are very easity replaced as well. They just screw in and plug it. It's worth paying to get a "real" scan done. The trans. sensors are inexpensive and you can replace any other your listed sensors yourself.

Hello,
I also was concerned about my tranny in my 1998 dodge caravan. I replaced the fluid & filter and it worked for a while. I finally had to bring it to AAMCO Transmission and they gave me a free evaluation of it & an estimate for the job. I had the option of ignoring their evaluation results and bring it home or just bite the bullet and have it repaired. I thought I could get a lot more miles out of it so I had it fixed for $1400 with no regrets.
Perhaps if you can find a similar place with free evaluation & estimate then that would be the thing to do as you seemed to have covered all the other bases.
Good Luck!

p0700 is a generic trans. code, so the problem if it is in the trans. would require further trans diag. so i would scan trans specific codes first. but in most cases when a chrysler tells you it is an internal controller fault you can believe it. just make sure which controller it is telling you has a fault!

Your P0700 code needs to be addressed right away. This signifies a problem with the solenoid pack, which is an external part that can be fixed for around $200 if you do it yourself, $300 if you take it somewhere. But a bad solenoid pack can mess up the whole tranny resulting in a total rebuild, which runs anywhere from $1200 to $2000 depending on where you go.
Your P1770 error is a Clutch Solenoid Circuit Malfunction. Definitely sounds like you have a solenoid problem. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for ranking my response and for using FixYa!
