Grade of oil

I would like to know what grade of engine oil is recommended for my son's 2009 mitsubishi lancer gts

    My car's service alert has been going off for about a week now and I have read through the manual to see what kind of oil to use for the oil change and all it says is "to use engine oils displaying the ILSAC certification mark". The manual never states what grade to use is 10w-30 etc.

That info would be in his owners manual, I couldn't find it because the car is so new there is little info available. PLEASE tell him NOT to THROW AWAY the manual!!!!! So many people ask questions on this site, and the info is in the original owners manual, but most people seem to toss them out. If u don't want the manual, mail it to me!! Let me know if u can't find the info.

What trasmition oil do this car use
Your transmission requires a special fluid. DIA QUEEN CVTF-J1
You can save yourself some time and go directly to the Mitsubishi dealer. You may hear alot of "recommended" replacements for the OEM fluid. With that CVT transmission, I recommend that you stay with OEM fluid.

I had my 2009 mitsubishi lancer for 2 mouths now ,and my gas mileage is bad to like I get 45.5 when I should get 100.5 when I drop down one line
apparently you should shift between 2000 and 3000, any more and you lose feul economy. I have the same problem its called lead foot.

My mitsu dealer in Canada has put 5w-20 on a '05 lancer. I thought the 5w-30 or 10w-30(summer) were the preferred grades. Am I wrong?
%w-20 is still a good grade of oil.
