I had my Jeep in for some major repairs at the dealer. They also foundthat my pressurized power steering hose is leaking and needs to bereplaced. I'm fairly handy, so I thought this might be a job a could domyself. The dealer also said that there's a fitting at the pump for thepressurized line that needs replacing. Can your help with anyinstallation instructions and/or tips? Thanks!
The line will cost you about a hundred bucks, its annoying but better then having the steering go out while on the road. As far as replacing it, have a long handled 20 mm wrench handy (same size top and bottom). I would also recommend driving around for a couple minutes to heat up the lines, then ever so slightly loosen them. The heat makes them come off much easier - just make sure to let it all cool off before you take it apart.
Parts are not cheap. I'm not sure how hard it is to get to your lines but line wrench/crows foot are probably needed. They are like a boxend wrench with cutout to go over line.

I have a 2000 JGC that developed a leak from the pressure fitting into the power steering pump. The line came off - no big deal - calling around, special order, line and quick connect fitting over $100! Come on, anybody no a way around this. Typical JGC problem.
