You'll need a power steering pump puller available at most part stores. They are very easy to use and it should have directions in the package on proper use. Just think if you can do yours, you can do most of the domestics pumps out there.

Unless the tow truck operator hooked up to the wrong thing the tow will have nothing to do with it.
I have never heard of any connection to the transmission and power steering, so the chances of the transmission repair causing the p/s failure is pretty low.
Is the repair shop reputible? I would recommend a second opinion from another shop.

you could have air in the system. first try an fill the resevoir to a proper level then with engine running turn steering wheel all the way to the left until it squeals, then to the right till it squeals. repeat this several times if this doesn't cure the problem change the pump only I seriously don't that the gearbox is bad. please rate this

The pump has to be removed from under the vehicle by removing the exhaust system from the flex bracket and moving it to as far left of the vehicle as possible..remember you have to remove the splash shield that protects the engine components first...then remove all associated bolts, hoses (plug them so they won't drip) and remove the pump from the vehicle..that it.

If the pressure hose has a hole in it you will never stop the leak because the fluid can reach 2500 psi. You will have to replace the hose. If the leak is at a fitting you can most likely replace the "o"-ring or washer . Hope this helps.
