Under the hood theres a small canister with turn cap. Not sure whats in there
The one that doesn't make sense, is called a canister filter
If you go to your windshield or registration & look at the
8th digit,it will be a Letter.
That is your VIN# your looking at & the letter is your engine code
You go to Wix Filters.Com & find what I believe is the canister
filter, not the metal screw on ,your familar with
Under that cap you found on top of the engine is the filter
You will need an extension & a good size metric socket
If you need the size I can check my tools or catalog for you
Testimonial: "Thank You for your help. I had a feeling it was under there but I don't like removing parts unless I'm sure. You've been a great help."
SOURCE: Spark? cylinder head? stuck valve? cylinder wall porosity?
That cap was most likley broken upon pulling off. You need new wires.
SOURCE: 2001 Alero code p0440.
there is still a small leak, the shop thats doing the testing can repair it? right? Usually these things are just one item, you may have more than one.

I've also noticed that when I look up a filter I keep getting 2 styles available. A regular tin filter with a seal on the bottom and the other being the paper element type which dosen't make sense. It's either or not which ever you'd like to use.
The 2.2 Ecotec engine takes the paper element filter.
