Pad removal procedure
Inspect the fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir.
If the brake fluid level is midway between the maximum-full point and the minimum allowable level, no brake fluid needs to be removed from the reservoir before proceeding.
If the brake fluid level is higher than midway between the maximum-full point and the minimum allowable level, remove brake fluid to the midway point before proceeding.
Raise and support the vehicle.
Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
Remove the caliper from the mounting bracket and support the caliper. Notice: Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic's wire, or equivalent, whenever it is separated from it's mount and the hydraulic flexible brake hose is still connected. Failure to support the caliper in this manner will cause the flexible brake hose to bear the weight of the caliper, which may cause damage to the brake hose and in turn may cause a brake fluid leak. DO NOT disconnect the hydraulic brake flexible hose from the caliper.
Remove the brake pads from the brake caliper bracket.
Remove the brake pad retainers from the brake caliper bracket.

Installation Procedure

Important: Use denatured alcohol to clean the outside surface of caliper boot before installing new brake pads.

Use a C-clamp in order to compress the piston to the bottom of the caliper bore. Use the old brake pad, a metal plate or a wooden block across the face of the piston in order to protect the piston and the caliper boot. Important: Use a small flat-bladed tool and lift the inner edge caliper boot next to the piston to release any trapped air.
Ensure that the piston boot is below the level of the piston face.

2017 Isuzu NPR DIESEL batteries died today replaced them now when you start it up the brake booster and brake light comes on

When the brake booster light and brake light come on after replacing the batteries in a 2017 Isuzu NPR Diesel, it could indicate a problem with the brake system or a malfunctioning brake booster.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the brake fluid level: Low brake fluid level can cause the brake booster light and brake light to come on. Open the hood and check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. If the level is low, top it up with the recommended brake fluid and check if the lights go off.
  2. Check the brake system: Inspect the brake lines, brake pads, and brake rotors for any damage or wear. If the brake pads are worn out, replace them immediately.
  3. Check the brake booster: The brake booster is responsible for increasing the force applied to the brake pedal. Check the brake booster for any damage or wear. If the brake booster is malfunctioning, it will need to be replaced.
  4. Reset the brake booster light: If the brake booster light and brake light stay on even after checking the brake fluid level and inspecting the brake system, it may be necessary to reset the brake booster light. To reset the brake booster light, turn the ignition switch to the "on" position without starting the engine. Pump the brake pedal 3 times, then turn the ignition switch off. Start the engine and check if the lights go off.
If none of these steps work, it is recommended to take the vehicle to a certified mechanic or the nearest Isuzu dealership for a professional diagnosis and repair.

I have a 2008 fe 180 .passenger side calipers locked up wore out the pads and tripped check brake light. How may I reset the computer to cancel the dash check brake light.

Some vehicles can be reset by disconnecting the battery. Depending on the damage to the brake sensor, you might have to replace the sensor and then use a scan tool to clear code.

Had my tired rotated, since then my Service ESC light comes on along with the brake "brake fluid" light comes on. I'm not sure if it something serious or i just need to unhook my battery and reset it.

check brake fluid level and make sure no leaks if low fill to proper level and check brakes it low change them as to esc when tires were changed workers may have hit sensor or damaged wiring by front end or a bad sensor sometimes rarely some hhr owners state a hiccup and reset the computer and it was fine but before you do that check and make sure brake system is correct and safe usually brake resets itself when repair or fluid is corrected

I just replace my rear rotors and pads for mu 2011 Subaru outback. Now my parking brake light is flashing. How to reset the brake light?

You should check your parking brake adjustment. That light means the parking brake sensor isnt aligned properly.. You might have missed the adjustment when you replaced the parking brake linkage. There is no way to reset the light without fixing the issue.

Reset low brake fluid light after bleeding brakes it was off before I bled them

Check your brake fluid level, the low brake light reset it self when the fluid is at the right level.
If that did not help, inspect the wire leads to the sensor on the brake reservoir or replace the sensor if level is proper.
Thank you for using fixya and be safe.

Why doesn't the eletronic parking brake work?

Try a reset of the park brake.
Make sure you have your radio code.!!
Disconnect the battery - leave for 10 Min's.
Reconnect.
Turn ignition on. If fault has not reset - try the following
Apply foot brake (not too hard)
Apply park-brake switch following instructions on the message center.

Use this method for any park brake fault as most of the time it fixes the minor problems caused by glitches and low battery voltage.
hope this helps good luck

Just changed rear brake pads on 05 mazda 6. now

This is normal and you need to keep pumping the brakes till they reset there self. Once the brake peddle have reset there self and is firm, check the brake fluid level again and add brake fluid if low. After brakes have reset there self, go for a test drive around the block and check the parking brakes. Good luck.
