My wipers wont shut off unless i turn key off and someone has jumped a wire in the fuse box have a rear defroster light on allways the dealer told me it would cost over 600 too replace the fuse block it cost me 120 for the info at local dealer can you help is the fuse block the whole box? i think there is a better answer help kevin
Building a reliable fuse box isn't rocket science so it is surprising so many manufacturers fail in this simple but essential bit of equipment.
Because these days the fuse box is integral to the wiring harness instead of a plug-in unit, replacing one of these overpriced overcomplicated overengineered nightmares is a fairly major undertaking.
The conventional solution is to employ an auto electrician to bypass the defective sections. Sometimes this is easy and cheap and sometimes a circuit diagram is needed and rather more time.
The trouble begins as a 2006 model probably uses a great deal of digital electronics and it is difficult to know where they begin and normal systems end and when a problem does occur it is difficult to know whether the problem is with normal electricity or digital - even the wipers...
As the wipers won't switch off it doesn't seem like the usual fusebox fault but I would need to study the circuit to look for clues. If necessary it should be possible to fit a temporary kill switch to the wipers fairly easily and quickly.
120 to the dealer to just take a look and give an opinion seems like a rip-off.

Disconnect the connector for the fue injector on the left side front of the intake plenemn there are two wires on red one blue these are your fue injector wires, check for power on one wire with the key ON One has power with the key ON, and then take the test light connect one end on one of the wires coming out of the harness NOT the plenem and the other end of the testlight to the other wire in the same connector don't let them touch togother! sue a paperclip or cotterpin to let you connect the clip of the testlight to the connector.crank and you should see the light blink( I just want to narrow down the possibilities) If you see the light blink Good. Then make sure the PINK wire wire going going in the module has 12V KEY ON and also check the two wires inside the distributor that come from the pick-up unit make sure they are not broke the distributor pick-up unit failes commonly, its easier and less expensive to just get a used distributor that works and be done with it.

According to GM there has been a problem with the blower resistor/relay and they have released a new style to correct this problem. If you have a friend at your local dealership, ask them to show you DOCUMENT # 2203597 if you feel you need further confirmation. The replacement part number you'll need for the new resistor is 89019088. This should correct your problem.

Have you checked the battery?
The fuel pump relay is located to the right of the glove box.
Remove three 8mm screws (along the front edge) and a wingnut (drivers side near the accelerator) to loosen the insulation panel. Twist out the light courtesy light and using a pair of pliers squeeze the plastic nipple to remove the SIR. Remove the insulation panel from the vehicle.
After the insulation panel is removed, the fuse/relay panel will be to the right of the glove box. The insulation panel should have a diagram of the fuse/relay panel layout.
The relay should be in the left column of relays just above the fuses.
A Good contortionist with small hands and this can be done in about 15 mins.
